By chance I was in work late today so "did the sale" in 2 Boots branches first thing. Didnt spend too much, mostly hair sets which will be used by me and daughters. I was very tempted by the 17 dazzle dust set but as I have still got about 15(all the colours available at the time) dazzle dusts from the 80's, it seemed a bit non- money-saving.
I asked last year about the use by dates in Boots and it seems it really depends on the product. I was told anything with water(aqua) in it will not last very long. Powdered eye shadows seem to have a very long use by date as they are "pigment bases". The SA was very keen to see my collection which I never got around to taking in to show her!
PS Now only buy for self/daughters in the 75% sale as my relatives & friends are savvy on whats "in" so I wouldnt get away with giving a previous years gift set as a pressie!!!!
My SIL gave one of my daughters a gift set (from Debenhams) a couple of years ago which we discovered (on returning for an exchange) was from 3 years previous!!! Mortified!
Still love Boots, and really miss the "Boots Grabbit" thread. x0 -
I went to Solihull Mell Square with my two year old in tow. We got there just after nine and saw a few people walking towards their cars with loads of Boots bags.
It wasnt too bad at first but got a bit too much for the little one in the buggy (well he did have a load of stuff on the hood and a couple of FCUK bags on the handles). In the end I spent just over £60.00 - two FCUK bags, four girls toiletry bags a bit similar to Hello Kitty, a Subuteo flask and washbag, megablocks, iggle piggle soap dish, fifi figures, boys long sleeved tshirts and a coat.
I normally buy a lot more but to be honest even at 75% some of it wasnt worth it. The staff were talking about a chocolate fountain thing that they had stacks of - 90% off maybe!0 -
and here come the ebayers who rip off the unfortunate

There are some fantastic bargains from the Boots sale on Ebay! No7 make up case RRP £30 - on Ebay for £25 plus £4 postage, saving you a massive £1. If anyone is daft enough to buy it they deserve to be parted from £29! lol :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Got to Luton Arndale store around 9.15 and it was absolutely packed! People with baskets and trolleys and ikea bags full... was worried there would be nothing left, but managed to get everything I had my eye on! FCUK handbag, Umberto Giannini hair set in black case, James Brown hair set in black clutch, Front Cover makeup set, Front cover eyelash set, Fearne lipglosses, St Tropez set, Gu chocolate and fondue set, Ted Baker ladies toiletries and Smirnoff set! Only got one of each and put a lot of stuff back - but some people went way too over the top! We are talking one lady, 12 fcuk bags, 9 mens holdalls and the entire stock of hair sets! However were some lovely people helping each other out and swapping and cannot praise the store staff any more..rushing round with baskets, trolleys, packing, taking things to cars and helping people move their items to the tills and out of the way. All in all very pleased!!0

Went to Hanley store for about 9:20am and as far as I could see that had already been cleared out of any good toiletries sets - I think the only main sets I saw were 3 Fearne hatboxes and a couple of the big Strictly sets. It was a bit manic in there but I still managed to get some nice bits to put away, and treated myself to a pair of cosy pyjamas for £5 and an umbrella for £2. Then I went to Newcastle under Lyme branch this afternoon and I spotted a Ben 10 omnitrix watch hidden away on the bottom shelf so grabbed that for my little man who will be so pleased (and so was I for £3.83!) and I also bought my little girl a Barbie 5mp camera for £12.50 to put away for when she's a bit older. And this evening, after reading reviews, I decided to order 2 of the Gok sets so will be picking those up in a few days. Used points and paypal, so for £340 worth of stuff I have only paid out £9 in cash today! Love it!!
And also got £100 worth of stuff in Claire's for £10 so a very good day for me today!0
