I was in the Cardiff Llanishen store at 8.05 this morning on my way to work and as I approached the 75% off section there were 3 women who had cleared the lot, they had 2 trolleys each! The only things left were the hat boxes and some small items. Bit greedy of them I thought.

its people like this that really annoy me, some of us cant afford to buy these items for ourselves unless they are on offer and the people stocking up and excessive buying for gifts and ebay really annoys me!

I am surprised buts dont limit the number of an item people can buy like supermarkets do with certain offers.

Why are the Charlie sets unpopular? Are they old fashioned?

    Hi,
haven't had chance to read thro all the recent posts, (is this the longest boots thread in history?)

just got in from work and wanted to report my own experience today-ok so i was going to resist the sale but i just couldn't help myself, i need help!
I set my alarm every hr last night and didn't get anywhere, headed off to shefd meadowhall which is about 1/2 hr drive from me, thought i would combine with claires as my sister and i have already cleared out our local claires

anyway IT WAS LIKE A CATTLE MARKET!!!!!!!! The 2 isles were so full that you couldnot physically move-I was "stuck" in each isle physically neither being able to reach the stock on either side because people were in the way and neither moving forwards or backwards. One woman was THROWING items to her OH OVER the isle -nice! People were being really mean and nasty and the BO from one lady was uhhh! It was so stressful.

    NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN!!!!
Anyway small consolation gots some lovely bits from claires so wasn't total waste of time.

THEN on my way back popped into my local at Doncaster before I went into work. The shelves were packed and our folk must be so naive I heard so many people just strolling around browsing!! Not like me hard core get as much as you can in your basket whether you need it or not!!

I have overbought loads of items, pleased but I really only wanted the fragrance minatures and got none from anywhere, just the old charlie blue and So gift packs, got loads of No7 minipacks and strictly lip gloss packs, think i bought a few too many if anyone wants some!!!

Did I read someone say that the Gok sets were OOS online because I have just managed to purchse 2 online?

i was at meadowhall and it was horrid!!!!!

Has anyone been to Merry Hill store? Thanks

Yes was there for them opening - they opened late - I've never seen people appear from no where so fast. One minute there was me and another 2 people next there were 30 or more people all pushing to get through the shutters.

They had two isles full of stuff plus several ends of the Gok boxes upstairs. An assistant mentioned they also had some gents sets downstairs but didn't get chance to look.

People were grabbing handfuls of stuff, the boxes with the small Ted Baker after shave was flying off the shelves. One lady was telling people that you had to grab things if you wanted them, she was very prepared with her husband standing back holding her stash.

I did spend £35 mainly on alcholic gifts. I have a 50th, 30th and 21st birthday coming up shortly.

Not sure if there will be much left by the way things were going. I left before 9.20 and there were already gaps appearing.

    Hope this helps.

If I venture over tomorrow I will update on whats there.

  • I had items in my basket that were showing as out of stock when I searched for them (most anyway), I decided to check out and see what I'd actually be able to buy but it all went through and I've had a confirmation email. Does this mean I'm guaranteed to get everything I ordered? Thanks
I don't know why I did it, I don't know why I enjoyed it and I don't know why I'll do it again

I can't understand why nobody seems to want them especially the pink one.

They can still cancel your order or part of your order even after you receive the confirmation email.

I might nip down to the small local store tomorrow lunchtime, see if there's anything left.....

Managed to get a GOK set online (fingers crossed that it actually comes) Been trying all day to get some presents, but everytime i refreshed something else had disappeared....

Congrats to those that got what they wanted...
