Boots 75% off sale - possible date

Usual tat left in Southampton Above bar today- Strictly, Fearne by the bucketload, some Elle sets, some empty make up bag stuff, slabs of chocolate, little photo frames, front cover sets, S&TC make up sets. No GOK, S&G, No7, but there hasn't been throughout the sale. There didn't appear to be any "new" stock or repleneshing from yesterday- or that week for that matter.

Has anyone been in West Quay retail park or Eastleigh? I want a Gok set. Anyone spotted any Gok sets within an hour or so of Southampton?

Wish i had a boots closer to me would have been easier to travel for an hour to get to the closest one than do this

I got a few things in our local store but needed a Strictly Cosmetic Case which I thought would be nice for my niece's birthday in a few months time. I went online when I got home 3ish and managed to get one so thought I would just check-out quickly before I had another look. It went through no problem. When I went back to have another look through the sale, just like everyone else, the site kept crashing and eventually after many refreshes I got to checkout for 5 items (thought I better try to check-out again and then I could go back for another look). I got eventually right through checkout so order was complete and it was only my bank security check, which is always fine and I just put in the 3 digits asked for and then it goes through but it couldn't go any further. I phoned Boots Customer Services and the girl was lovely but she was having the same problem as us customers. What a crazy website! You would think that Customer Services would have something different to allow them to help customers. Very frustrating for them too to be working with what is obviously an old system which cannot cope with sales like every other company's site. I gave her my card details and she entered them just as I had done, but got the same response. She checked with her supervisor and was told that I would just need to keep trying. A very poor response too after getting through the whole checkout processs. That was 4ish today and I have been refreshing on and off for 3 hours. I thought I would try adding something else to my basket to test it out and got the message that order with various digits after it was locked and access was denied so I suppose that is since Customer Services tried to help. I phoned again and they had gone home at 7 pm. Not sure who answered, whether it was security or someone from IT but most likely security person. It doesn't matter whether it is normal sales or special sales they need to have a server which can cope with greater numbers. I have done so much internet shopping over the years and I have never encountered problems. I have never had to phone customer services at any company due to internet ordering problems. Come on, Boot.com, get yourself upgraded to bring yourself in line with other companies or you will get left behind when customers shop elsewhere. I'll keep trying on and off but very strange to get through the whole checkout process and only get stuck when the bank verification screen shows. It's as if their site is not coping with the bank part as well as all the other problems. Ah well, I got the one item I wanted and I'm so glad I checked out once I had that in my basket.

There are not words to describe the LOATHING I have for the Boots website. Teasingly letting me into my basket all night and day but immediately getting the TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE banner the second I try to execute a move.

Lot to be said for the traditional Qing at the door and at least you get you hands on the goodies. Ah well. Win some, lose some. Til next year folks!

Well after a very long and sleepless night, I got to Boots Broadmead in Bristol for 8:00am, got a few bits there, then legged it to Avonmeads (they had more stock there) and spent quite a bit but managed to get the big Sanctuary Boxes for £10 each (yippee) Got most of what I wanted, then went to the new Hartcliffe store and there was not much there, anyway had to go to Morrisons (in Hartcliffe) and there is a small boots opposite, they had quite a few of the £20 Sanctuary gift sets that were now £5, they had no 75% sale sign up and the SA didnt even know it was 75% off, so if anyone is in the area I think if they popped in they may get lucky, just thought I would let you know in case anyone is local, went to Bedminster store this afternoon (took Mum shopping so called in) and they only had the Hat Boxes left (even the strictly cases had sold out!!) I am happy with my loot to be honest, and can I just say a huge thankyou to everyone who stayed up last night, this morning I swore I would never do it again..........but hey ho its one night a year and to be honest I found it quite entertaining....frustrating but funny at the same time, so I have a feeling this time next year I will be here again, getting trigger finger........and I will justify it by telling myself Boots IT dept may just have got its act together :rotfl:as they will have had a year to get it sorted (doubt it somehow but I live in hope) so I have been a Boots sale convert for 3 yrs now and long may it continue, thankyou again for last night you are a lovely bunch and made a long night bearable, well done to everyone who got what they wanted, it was worth it in the end :j:j Take care all Sue xx

I eventually managed to submit an order this afternoon at 3pm - after trying early this morning, before and after lunch. Just a few bits plus the Gok set, after the favourable reports when it was OOTW. I just hope IT don't check my internet access and ask what I'm doing on the Boots website at 3pm! Do you think 'but it's the 75% off sale!' will be suffcient
