Up until yesterday I could log on to the NJP site and see that my asset had been ceased but was "active".
Clode assured me that they were working hard to restore my connection as I had paid up front for three years service.
Yesterday I tried to log on and my details are now "invalid".
I emailed Clode but no reply, not even a read reciept.

I think that this is the end! Do I need to pursue them through the courts?

    Dear Member
You have used a considerable amount of bandwidth this month already and from our records have not taken advantage of our bolt-on's available. We have speed restricted your account in case your account has been compromised and are not aware of this. We would like you to give us a call at your convenience so we can discuss some different options with you.
    Kind Regards

I tried e-mailing a response, but it was bounced back as undeliverable. So then I rang the number on the bottom of the e-mail only to get through to a guy at NJP who denied all knowledge about the call or my account, but immediately suggested I call Redten @ 0844 482 0000 - oh how we laughed!

So now it looks like I'm throttled until July.....

I got the same email last week - the email address does not accept replies and the number quoted is NJP - they suggested calling the Tech support No - called them last Thursday and spoke to Frank who said he would send a request to correct it to the server team and request my MAC at the same time. This lot should be on the telly, never known so many comedians working for the same company.

Well I rang the Redten premium rate line and spoke to a gentleman called Madhan, who told me we are now on a 5gb cap - not sure how Redten/Clode communicate this to users! He suggested I e-mail Tech Support as they don't have a phone number - so if you've got one I'd be grateful for it. Oh, and he couldn't transfer me to his manager as they were on the phone.

Then I rang Clode, only to be told that the lady dealing with Redten had left the office - but would be back later, try after 3:00!

These look like emails from March / April which were sent from njp on behalf of redten--the domain is not valid any more. They may have filtered through from some back up system as they change servers which they are undoubtly doing now to fatcatredinternet.

I suspect people are already slammed again but do not know it!!!!!!

You know I almost find myself admiring their duplicity !

You could try withholding payments because there is a lot of forged Bank of England notes around

At least that should comply with their logic which was limit your bandwidth to stop illegal downloads now cut your speed because your account may be hacked

    Yes I like it
    Who cares ??

So any predictions as to what the big announcement this week is going to be?

redten due to post their accounts to company house by 31.6.2008 so expect the company to be bought over by ---wait for it ! ! !---fatcatinternet who'll do a swift director change --maybe issue 1000 shares to allow new shareholder to buy in ---run the service from watford and bobs your uncle --we have come full circle again.

or a minor variation on the theme --

hows that? any advance on mine? charlatans one and all!!!!

The tech support No is the Premium Rate number (The only one that is answered) - did Madhan give you an email address to use?
  • If anyone wants to check their bandwidth usage now NJP have stripped out the link, log in to your NJP account as before then got to https://secure.njpservices.com/cust_myacc/files/maAdsl_bandwidth.asp (I've added this to my Favorites (ironic eh?) to make it ieasy to check.

As you'll see, it now says there's a 5gb cap again, although it said that at the end of last month and I didn't get throttled even though I used about 17gb. We'll soon see if the cap is really back!!!
