    .

Only reason I'm asking is that it would suit a friend of mine who is currently paying AOL £15/month for a basic connection & cannot afford a brand new PC to take advantage of it, so for the extra £5 a month it would suit him - I just don't know anything about the company.

AOL will drop the price to £9.99 p/m if they ring and ask so really you are paying £10 more

The PC they supply isnt worth £500 IMO either

Not too sure about that - 19" LG monitor, 3 year warranty, included upgrade to Vista? - I think you'd be struggling to find a comparable offer elsewhere. It's down to whether you want to be tied in for 3 years. As it's supplied by Watford, who are a respectable company in my eyes, then I think I'll recommend it to my mate anyway & see what he says.

3 year contract? avoid at all costs, another small company which raises suspicion. I could see another E7Even/Euro1Net situation in the future for this!

    Hi all

I saw this on another forum and wondered if anyone here has used it? Seems like a fair price for a new pc and internet. It ties you in for 3 years but still a good deal I thought. Has anyone signed up for this or anyone who can give me (or point me in the direction of) a review?

I can't believe that anyone would sign up for a three year deal. Just look was has happened to ISP prices in the last few months!

so that's a "no don't do it" then?

I thought it was a pretty good deal especially if they upgrade to latest windows plus up to 24mbps when available? Has anyone actually used them?

I don't think it looks overpriced.

Say you could get broadband at £10 per month, then you are paying £10 per month more than that with Redten (on its cheapest package), so the PC costs you £360 over the 3 years. Doesn't seem too bad a deal.

Did you read the small print?
Will I be able to cancel my contract?
Yes, you will. You'll have two options. The first option, which is open to you at any time during your time with Redten, is to return your LG Redten PC and pay an admin and restocking charge of £150. The second is to cancel your contract at any stage by paying a cancellation charge to cover the residual value of the PC, which you'll then be able to keep. If you cancel within the first 12 months of your three-year contract this charge will be £500; between 12 months and 24 months, it will be £400; and between 24 months and 36 months, it will be £250. The cancellation notice period is 6 weeks.

No idea about quality, but you have to sign up for THREE YEARS! I wouldn't sign up for something which asked me to stay more than about three months!

It also doesn't say what their "fair usage policy" is - on my Nildram account it's a reasonable 50GB per month whereas I've seen as low as 1GB...

It should go without saying that I doubt it's a good idea to stump up the three years in advance to such a fledgling company...
