  • Hi SA  Just wanted to pop by to wish you the best of luck with your diary - and all your plans for 2011. Looking forward to hearing all your news. I was thinking of getting a dog a few months ago but talked myself out of it. Sounds like your little one is your pride and joy!

Very dry indeed! I must admit to having read it as if you were having a go at SW for her post, as you quoted it - and I am sure that she read it that way also, which is why she was understandably upset

As you have said in your PM, it shows how the meaning of words can be miscontrued on the internet - the written word can be very different to the spoken word in context, which needs to be born in mind when posting

    Thanks for the explanation :)

    Hi everyone..... :T

What has been going on since I was last online? Everyone is more than welcome in my diary. Please, nobody has to un subscribe or is it de-scribe :rotfl:
A lot of us are a bit battered and bruised and take offence sometimes at comments but we must rise above it and give it a bit of time to let it sink in and perhaps just LET IT GO!!!!

Angie, how thrilled am I that you and yellow monkey have found me. I have heard from philmac as well, just like the old days. So often your kind and sensible words got me though traumatic times and I now try and help others as much as I can.
savingwanabe - don't you go anywhere, I need you!
Nohope, you are staying too - who else is going to kick your !!! when you need it....?
copperjar - welcome to my little Yorkshire sub-branch of MSE diaries. I love your diary too. Yes, my dog is my pride and joy and my sounding board, tissue for my tears and generally a Robin to my Batman...... :)

Well the gas man turned up at 3.35pm for a morning appointment and left after 8 mins. The gas appliance check seemed to involve spraying something on a pipe leading to my gas meter and asking me if the smoke alarms work! Fine, signature please.... and off he went. Nice work if you can get it. Still going after the £10 compo though - think of all the pigs ears that will buy. Do they do a Dog Weight Watchers?

Well, I was told that I wasn't needed at work yesterday because it is quiet at the moment. Guess what? My friend rang me last night to say that the young girl I work with (and my nemesis) went home at lunchtime and left my boss on his own in the office all afternoon.... I suppose they didn't ring me because I wasn't best pleased at having my hours cut. I am hoping to have a sit down with my boss today and sort a few things out. I started last October and I still haven't had ANYTHING in writing - not even a job offer!

I was so engossed in the book I am reading I had to Sky+ Glee and Alan Carr last night as I couldn't concentrate on both.... My redundancy package included a year of the top package with Sky including HD,broadband and phone. I shall have to shop very carefully for a cheaper package when that ends in June. I think I would be lost without my Sky+

Come on you lot, play nice and stick around. You lot are my new friends.

    Hugs everyone

Nohope and i are ok. I was ill last night and didn't realise what they were saying. It's ok now. We are gonna eat a BIIIIG cake one day. Like this but HUGE :bdaycake:

Gosh your boss doessn't sound very sensible. You are clearly the worker and the do-er and missy smarty pants is abusing this. I dont know what to suggest. Is it worth trying to talk to him? Sometimes senior managers listen but a lot of the time they dont want to rock the boat as it is easier for them this way. She should have a few disciplinaries by now shouldn't she? (hey am i allowed to say this?) I am worried if you go up you will look like a trouble maker when you are not. Does anyone have any ideas?

And no, arsenic is not the solution :rotfl::rotfl:

    Hi there sw,

Sorry you were poorly and pleased you are feeling better. I wondered what on earth had been going on but I think it is best left now by the sound of it.

Well, what a difference a day makes - the boss is back from his hols. I got called in for a "chat" thinking I was in for the high jump and I got a big pat on the back instead! :T They have agreed that every hour I work is paid and none of this time in lieu nonsense. I have been asked what hours I want to work and basically I can do what I want..... :) I have a feeling that my colleague may be pregnant as he was talking about plans for the future and it all being a bit vague at the moment. there is already one woman on maternity leave and it is only a small company. It must be very hard for employers sometimes. Luckily I have no wish or ability to have any more kids so it looks like my future is looking pretty promising if I can just keep it all steady. I got a call from the HR manager as well telling me that she had a long chat with my boss last night and that I am to ring her if anything else crops up. There were some sheepish faces in my office today, I can tell you :p God, I hate bullies.

It was so nice to get home from work and take the dog for a long walk in the sunshine. Yes, it was cold but still really nice. While we were out I had a marrow bone roasting in the oven for him and he is happily gnawing on that now as I type. I had a real result this week when I managed to halve the cost of his insurance which is up for renewal at the end of Jan. Tesco are doing a 50% discount for new customers. It is a fantastic deal (worthy of a Martin mention) and the annual premium is £48 instead of £100. Brilliant!

I hope everyone had a decent enough day today.

    Hugs to you all

Well done it is good when they figure it out....Eventually. Jolly Well done. And well done on insurance too. You remind me of Claire, she was the best form captain we ever had. I was her deputy and didn't have to do much she sorted everything I just smiled at everyone. I am vvvv glad you are here. You are very like Angel. Yay.
