Good for you with the hours, theres helping someone and theres having the p taken, if you have to do the one in 4 sundays at 6 hrs, the same as the full timers they get 9 hrs given back to them then you want the nine hours, - don't accept the but your part time we're pro-rate it (I know I know mean) they may say take a day off in lieu, if your only working 5 hrs then your not getting the same benefit.

Thanks for that.. sometimes I think that I let my mind race away with me and get unreasonable as a result. One of the great plusses of this board is that you can always ask other peoples opinions and get great advice.
I have calmed down a bit and will wait until the boss gets back next week before I mention it again. I am just keeping my head down at the moment and let the little madam in my office run the show. Perhaps if she is given enough rope she just may hang herself, but she is very secretive and undermining. Difficult to work with.
Listening to my customers telling me how quiet it is and seeing the supermarket almost empty tells me that people are really struggling this month after Christmas. I am so pleased that I stopped going overboard on spending at Christmas and New Year a few years ago. Now, it is like any other time of the year, budget wise and I don't have to struggle with debts as a result. I was horrified when I saw a young mum on our local news who had spent hundreds on her young son's presents and she was on benefits! Guess what, now she is seeking a consolidation agreement. Sounds like my neighbours - got to have everything, but all on benefits, no one works.
Back to happier things - has anyone been watching the 5 celebrities go to Turkey on channel 4 at 5pm everyday? It is quite funny but I must admit I quite like the look of Turkey as a holiday destination. For nearly 15 years I have only been going to the Caribbean and it is time for pastures new. Anyone got any opinions?
Have a good day everyone and isn't it nice to have some milder weather? Just needs to dry up a bit.... like me
Hugs

U loved that celeb programme it was brilliant, the villa looked gorgeous.
Which part of the Carribean did you go to, I'm taking DD to Dom Rep in April.
Would have suggested Tunisia for somewhere different, but its a bit of a no-go area at the mo.
Just have to find the rich man.... xx
I went to Turkey back in 2002, stayed at a place called Torba, about 20 mins from Bodrum, - do want to go back, get there eventually. Thou really want to go back to Cyprus, but fussy and only want to go back to the hotel I stayed at.
got mobility probs, so if I can find somewhere I can manage - try to go back.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
 mum2one - posting at 2.44am.... wow!
I was in the North of the Dom Rep, working in hotels all along the coast but mainly in Playa Dorada. Unfortunately it is not what it was - some of the hotels are very run down and outdated. Yes it is a cheap holiday but there isn't a great deal to do outside the resorts. The government has invested very little in tourism and there have been some problems with increased crime on the streets and they have had huge amounts of rain over the last 2 - 3 months, should be better in April. Just be sensible and I am sure you will have a good time.
I love it but that is because I have friends there and many good memories but I am not sure I would feel the same if I was a first time visitor. The East and South however are very different, the real Caribbean if you like. Nice hotels, white sand, palm trees. It is on the Pacific ocean so the waters are blue and clear where the North is on the Atlantic and is quite choppy.
I am glad you loved the programme too. I am pleased Anthony won - he seems a nice guy. Emma Ridley wound me up at first but she seemed to calm down a bit. I hope they make another one.
What a funny ending to the week.... The IR issued an incorrect tax code and I was taxed £25 on my weeks wages leaving me short, then out of the blue my other boss ( I have 2 jobs) gave me £20 extra in my wages! He is so sweet, only young but a real superstar to work for, unlike the other mob.I am pleased that my jobs are only part time as I don't think I could stick more than 5 hours of the girl I work with in my afternoon job. Why do some young people these days have aboslutley no respect for other people and think they know it all. It really gets my goat...... Not going to dwell on it though.
I took my dog out for a short walk this morning at 6am before work and I was shocked to see that the river at the end of my road has risen 8 feet overnight and not only covered the fields it runs thorugh but has reached the roadside! There was a police car there and the policeman in it said that they were worried in case we get any more rain and the road would get flooded. Ooh err....... What a funny climate we have these days.
I hope everyone has a good day today.I am just chilling out and will read some more of a book that I am really enjoying. It is written by Douglas Kennedy who wrote "The Pursuit of Happiness" the Will Smith film. I do love a good read.

My posts are so long on your thread that I thought it would be better to have a diary of my own where I can ramble on and on and not bore everyone to tears. Funny, but writing it down is almost the same as telling it to someone in person, such is the warmth on this board.
Have a good day, Nh
Hugs

Wow, A real blast from the past. We were such good forum buddies back in the day, I often think about you (honestly) and philmacadamy and the others. Well, as you can see my life has moved on somewhat. It is not easy, most definitely not, but BR was quite a speedy process beginning to end and I have changed so much with my lifestyle and financial decisions, a real steep learning curve.
It has taken me a year or two to get back on an even track and as you can see, I was made redundant from my perfect job last year.
But another chapter of the rollercoaster, that is otherwise known as startagain's life, has begun and it is OK.
This years challenges are to pay my bills annually where possible, insurances, TV licence, AA and so on so that the monthly outgoings are reduced. My thinking is that if anything horrid happens again
then I haven't got loads of monthly DD's. A cunning plan!
I have got myself a little dog, who is as cranky as I am.Now all I need is a bloke that fits into this scene like the missing piece of a jigsaw puzzle....
I love this board and dip in and out of the OS forum as well. I am in the market for a new fridge freezer this month (get me) and I have discovered the Comet Clearance site and it looks a real bargain place so that has cheered me up.
Keep in touch now that you have found me, ym .....
Day off today, done my little cleaning job, now waiting in for someone to come and do the annual gas inspection in my flat. Lots of time to read and write on here..... yippee
Hugs everyone

I was out in Playa Dorardo in 2005, stayed at Villas Doradro, thiu that s now been revamped and now is an adults only hotel, were staying in Grand ventana, - it was great last as I needed a chill out hol, wa glad to stay by the pool, apart from venturing to the shopping plaza my only trip out of the complex was to Ocean World, this time taking DD, shes 8, planning coule visits to Ocean World, she wants the dolphin swim, and then the dolphin + sealion encounter, I'm stuck on crutches so can't do the monster trips etc, half of me is conserned it be too quiet for her, but shes said she hates shopping, she'd rather be in the pool, so to an extent we'll get by.
hope the gas inspection went ok, - def agree re needing the man, al I do is window shop......... xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
