Just catching up on your diary SA. I'm so sorry to hear of the rubbish you've had to put up with over the past few days.
Part of me wants to say make them put in writing why you were sacked, get them running scared a bit. But then I guess that just means keeping the upset going for longer and you're right to let go.
Working for a huge organisation like a County Council, we wouldn't be allowed to do anything like that - even if the person had worked for us for less than a year, I guess you forget that not all companies have to abide by the same rules.
You WILL get a new job soon. One that you actually enjoy. You've not really lost anything financially - so try to look on this as an opportunity (I know, easier said than done).[STRIKE]Total debt 1.11.10 £23,446[/STRIKE]Save £6k in 2015 #129 £6121.66/£6000Save £6k in 2016 #39 £6000/£60000 -

Morning everyone and thanks to those of you who have posted since I was last here.
ACAS did say that I could/should lodge a Notice of Appeal which is basically saying that I don't agree with the decision and asking for written reasons as to why they took the decision to dismiss me. BUT - you are absolutely right in that they don't have to and it won't solve anything.
We are talking about a workplace with 30 employees and yet the General Manager didn't speak to me for 3 months. Explanation? " that's just the way he is". I am better off out of it I know
I did say at the Jobcentre yesterday that I couldn't give a flying fig about their "targets" and I am not going to be badgered into taking anything that is offered, like last time. It serves no purpose and leaves the employee totally out of their comfort zone if the job doesn't suit for one reason or another.
Someone mentioned voluntary work and I will certainly look into that. I honestly believe that I am borderline able/unable to work and this seems to be a good compromise or stepping stone, whatever you want to call it.
I am actually feeling a weight off my shoulders - I hate confrontation and I am more used to sorting out grievances than being the subject of one....
Anyway, petrol in car, air in tyres, gas and electric meters topped up, a crumble to be made, dog to be walked, ducks to be fed - I really don't know how I ever found the time to work....
I am being very tongue in cheek here if anyone takes offence to my "workshy" attitude. I have a strong work ethic and will be looking for something that fits my personality, qualities and experience. Lollipop lady?
Hugs everyone

You need you time. Dont worry. It is entirely understandable after this stupid company's behaviour. You certainly are not unemployable but are waiting for the right job. Nothing wrong with that at all. For now focus on chilling and getting this dreadful experience out of your system you will know when you are ready to look for suitable employment. Noone can criticise you. We all need 'me' time to give us perspective and a chance to make rational long term decisions it is a good use of your time.
It is freezing in Hamsphire, can't believe i didn't get frostbite on the walk home. I hope you are well wrapped up.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
I want the Job Centre to realise that it is not about getting people off their books BUT getting people into a job they will stay in because they fit the job and the company so best of luck hun!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Hi
Voluntary work sounds like a good option.
In my humble opinion you are well off out of there TBH.

Hi everyone,
Well said Dragon, the Jobcentre was packed both yesterday and today. Apparently redundancies surged last month.
A lot of the staff at my "local" Jobcentre are on temporary contracts and are target led which I think is completely the wrong attitude to take - I can't blame them, it is government initiatives, or non-initiatives.
To me, it just smacks of numbers and not of actually helping people. Just get them off JSA and get the national unemployment figure down. They were also telling me that a lot of the training schemes and services have been withdrawn by the new government. There hasn't been a lot about that in the press, I think it's really bad.
Anyway, that's it for another fortnight, thank heavens. Got some money from the ex employers today, they owe me another £230 - let's see what arrives next week. I am even more relieved that I am not there anymore... but I don't like the thought of being sacked, fired, dismissed, let go - whatever way you want to put it.
I am going to have a real good think about what I do next and what I WANT to do. I have to bear in mind that I am not in my first flush of youth anymore, and although really fit I don't really want an outdoors job - I just feel the cold so much now. On the other hand, I hate being cooped up, contrary whatsit, aren't I? And I HATE selling - so many jobs now are sell, sell, sell and cold calling...
It's just not me.
But all in all, I am fine, I know a couple of you were a bit worried but please don't - I am good. Tomorrow I am going out to a dinner organised by my Social club so that will be something a bit different.
Luckily I booked and paid for it a few weeks ago.
I hope you all have a good evening and yes beanielou - K & R was really good.
Hugs

Do you think you would be any good at being self-employed/starting your own business?"Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0
