Matalan have some cheap church pillar candles from £1.50- they only have them in 3" by 6" and 3" by 9" though. If you can find a third size elsewhere they may be worth a lookcredit_crunch wrote: »Any of u ladies have any suggestions where the best place to buy pillar candles might be?
I've had a look on eBay & I'm waiting on sellers coming back to me with prices
I want 15 sets of 3 ivory or white candles in 3 different heights if you know what I mean? Keeping my centrepieces quite simple
Thanks0 -
Welcome to the thread :j
For what it's worth, I would prioritise your to do list into essentials, and nice-to-haves-but-not-overly-fussed-if-we-don't-have-them! Catering seems vital, as does entertainment and photography- if you can get these sorted then I'm sure you will feel a little more relaxed. Do you have friends/ family/ bridesmads who can help you with some of the more minor things? You will get there eventually and will have an amazing dayHi, Can I join this board?
I'm a previous member of the June 2013 board but we've now decided to bring our wedding forward to August 26th 2012!
I've done a bit of preperation (venue - local village church and rugby club for reception) and bought my dress but that is about it and I feel sooooooo underprepared! Actually I lie, I've bought some organza bags of e-bay for favours (£1.47 for 50!) and 100 wooden roses to make part of our centerpeices (£4 from carboot sale!) and got my little sister to agree to make a cake
However I have a long list of things such as caterers, entertainment, photography, decorations, wedding music, organists, hotels, flowers, bridesmaid dresses, mens outfits, hair, make up, table settings and goodness knows what else I havent even thought of!!!
Sorry for the slight vent, its my own fault for changing the date, we just thought 'why wait, we love each other and thats the main thing'
Lovely to meet you all, Hannah x0 -
Hello again everyone,
Well we've now ordered our invitations (vistaprint!) and they should be coming by the end of the week, gonna jazz them up a bit I think with some stick on gems and nice ribbon (might go terribly wrong lol, but we've only got about 60-70 guest coming and the invites came in packs of 100, so I've got a few spare to get wrong!)
Got a meeting with the church and caterers next week, so hopefully all the main things with be sorted after that.
Also have a potential photographer - found him on gumtree, offering photos of getting ready, ceremony, reception up to cutting cake, all photos on a disc and 100 printed, for £170. This sounds really good to me, I'm just slightly worried if it might be too good to be true?!! He does have a website and the photos look good, but no 'testimonials' from other customers, hmmmm

Well we had a busy weekend - wedding preparation-wise.
We met our photographer and had a chat about what we'd like and any ideas he had - ours is a freebie so we will be intrigued to see how it all turns out.
Sample cup cakes were scoffed this week by us and various family members so subject to further discussion on displays and quantities etc - the cake maker/confectioner is booked.
We had a couple of quotes for invites and got a fantastic deal for our day invites plus rsvps and our evening invites.(The day invites include personalised printing so no unwanteds can assume they are invited!!)
They have been proof-read - corrections made - booked and paid for! So in a minimum one week - maximum two weeks they should be ready and we will be able to send them out by the end of April.I already have my stamps ready!!
I have also emailed the unsuccessful quoters - so can relax now:A
Been in email contact with a vendor for OH's waistcoat on preloved - so just need to be invoiced, pay and wait for the postman!!
SwampyExpect the worst, hope for the best, and take what comes!!:o0 -
hi all
well swampy you have been busy wish i could find a photographer for a freebie ill be using a normal camera i think.
havent done no more on wedding plans not much to do.
have handed in my last bit of college work now so can relax so just an observation in placement to go and i will be finished!!!0 -
Booked my caterer
soooo glad thats now sorted and he's gonna do a 3 course meal and evening buffet for £15 a head, so I'm very happy with that.
Got the invites from vistaprint that other day and they had a spelling mistake!!!nooooo, and despite the fact it wasnt on my original design they refused to give any refund (grrrr), but managed to save them by cutting out bits of them and lots of card, glue, wedding confetti and ribbon and now they look rather good if I do say so myselfso be sending them out tomorrow
Hope everyone elses plans are going well x0 -
wooo!!! hippihaz thats a bargain!!!!
we have booked the mens waistcoats now and they are going to buy suits closer to the time
i've got a rough idea of how i'm doing my table plan (covering a canvas!!)
i've started buying bits for the kids activity packs and i'm bidding on some confetti (i'm supplying enough for half the guests incase people forget to bring their own)
i'm trying to work out how to do my guest book as i dont want "normal" one but neither do i want a signing frame or wishing tree.0 -
What kind of confetti are you looking at kacy? I tried to make some from some dried roses but they have gone a bit brown
Our vicar is leaving our parish the week before the wedding, so now we have nobody to do our service:(:( She is ever so lovely so I'm absolutely gutted it won't be her on the day. They are trying to find us a different vicar but the lady in charge of sorting it out is on holiday at the moment! We can't do an order of service without speaking to the vicar who will do our service as they have different ways preferences as to how to structure the service. Really disappointed
:(:(

Tiara I hope you get sorted with a nice replacement vicar :-)
We are having a priest & a minister at our wedding, so we met with the priest last week & Im tryin to arrange a meeting after my fiance's stag do over the may day wkend
I am trying to finalise names & numbers so that I can pay the balance on my invites & get them ordered! I plan on posting them 2nd or 3rd week in May
I am meeting with the florist again 5th May to try & reduce the costs etc plus I am having 2nd thoughts on my bouquet & my flower girls bouquet, so want to confirm changes to those
I am finalising the details for my cake - think it will be ivory & maybe with a ribbon around each tier to match the bridesmaid dresses
And chair covers - need to decide if I want white, silver or same colour as bridesmaid dresses for the sashes!
Everything is just ticking along at the moment, so hopefully I can keep on top of it all :-)0
