Hi, Can I join this board?
I'm a previous member of the June 2013 board but we've now decided to bring our wedding forward to August 26th 2012!
I've done a bit of preperation (venue - local village church and rugby club for reception) and bought my dress but that is about it and I feel sooooooo underprepared! Actually I lie, I've bought some organza bags of e-bay for favours (£1.47 for 50!) and 100 wooden roses to make part of our centerpeices (£4 from carboot sale!) and got my little sister to agree to make a cake :)
However I have a long list of things such as caterers, entertainment, photography, decorations, wedding music, organists, hotels, flowers, bridesmaid dresses, mens outfits, hair, make up, table settings and goodness knows what else I havent even thought of!!!
Sorry for the slight vent, its my own fault for changing the date, we just thought 'why wait, we love each other and thats the main thing' :)
Lovely to meet you all, Hannah x

My sample cupcakes arrived this evening and they look gorgeous - almost too good to eat!
There's lemon ones, orange ones, boozy ones and chocolatey ones!!:drool: She has also done fondant decorations and buttercream icing in all the different flavours!! They look fab!! She has some ideas for how she's going to set them up decoration-wise along with a cake (for cutting) that my sister has offered to make us (big sis used to do wedding cakes many moons ago!!)
Just waiting on a quote - and she will also make mini cakes for the evening - the two bites and they are gone sort!!

Will have to diet after this! My dress was a snug fit at this rate it will be squeeze fit!!:rotfl:

P.s. Hi Hippihaz and welcome!! Your wedding date is the day after mine!! :T
Expect the worst, hope for the best, and take what comes!!:o

Our sample invites for both the day and the evening have arrived and they are fab!! :T

Just one minor spelling error to correct and it is all systems go!!
and we should be on track for sending them out by the end of the month.:D

Still waiting for the organza bags (for favours) to arrive but two of the Best Mens' presents arrived yesterday.

Isn't it funny how it seems like nothing is happening and there is flurry of activity and it all goes quiet again?

i've bought a chinese copy. and it's nice. it's exactly what my OH would have chosen for me, simple - no bells and whistles

but i'm not sold on it!!

after crying at my mum she insisted we go shopping on thursday to find something better

    this is what i have:
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150736886937?var=450058364955&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

this is what i'd prefer (OH will HATE it)

Hiya...I bought the same one as you from Ebay and have decided against wearing it. The one that I ordered arrived in a bit of a state screwed up in a little bag and had lots of loose threads and didn't fit me at all. I've got a Maggie Sottero now, totally over budget but I adore it. I think the second dress is beautiful...why don't you go to a bridal shop and try a few, I sold my ebay one on again, made a small loss but not the end of the world. You've still plenty of time to decide.

We are in the process of getting invites out for our wedding on 17th Aug, its a Fri so thought people would need plenty of notice to take time off work. Time really is flying, not long to go now!
  • kacy1988 just seen your next post with the essence dress...good choice, its lovely. My second choice was an Essence one. Such a shame with the Ebay one, if only they actually did look exactly like the pictures, would be such bargains!

    ellie.
my dress looks very very very similar to the picture :) it's exactly what i thought it would be. it just doesnt suit my figure :(

if i'd bothered trying to lose more weight it *might* be ok. i just dont want to risk it.
mum said as soon as i put the essence dress on i stood up tall and held myself nicely - it was obvious to us both that it was "the" dress!!
it's all sorted on that front. now we just have the family politics to deal with - so-in-so wont come if so-in-so is, someone else wants to bring their children, someone else now cant get /afford a flight etc etc etc

Any of u ladies have any suggestions where the best place to buy pillar candles might be?
I've had a look on eBay & I'm waiting on sellers coming back to me with prices
I want 15 sets of 3 ivory or white candles in 3 different heights if you know what I mean? Keeping my centrepieces quite simple
    Thanks
