I had a little retro flashback last night, as a child I remember playing a computer game with a joystick.
I can't remember much about the game except that you had to collect a 'golden chalice'. I think the character used to fly as I remember when you landed in the water it made a sploshing sound and you drowned. Also the doors were like old fashioned wooden castle doors and creaked when you opened them. Some didn't open at all...
Any ideas? I'd really liketo find out what this was and get hold of it. I was born in 78 so I'm guessing that it would have been 1988 onwards that it was around.
Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Was it gauntlet? on the commodore 64?0

Sounds a bit like the default game on the Sega Master System.
Alex The Kidd?0 -
I'm fairly sure it was just a normal computer game not a games console, had a look at that link albertross (thanks BTW) but it was a bit more advanced graphic wise.
Is a commodore 64 like a normal computer or is it a games console?
Had another mini flashback, there was a ghost like character that would chase after the main character and if you didn't get away from him you died.0 -
Just googled 'run the gauntlet', wasn't that I'm afraid - there where no vehicles involved.0

Yeah, The commodore 64 was a normal computer, everything was inside the deep key-board, and had a tape deck to load it in and used to 'scream' when loading
Here is screen shots

Run the gauntlet was later, the earlier one was just the main character on foot0

I don't think this fits the description, but it's the only one that springs to mind..

Thanks for all the links Bad-Boy-Button, wasn't gaunlet either, from that description we did have a commodore 64 but I'm fairly sure that it was later on than this and was more like a 'proper' computer!
Albertross, wasn't that one either, again graphics were a bit more advanced.
Will keep googling, I NEED to find out what it was or I may well go insane!0 -
The 2 popular computers of that time (circa 1989) were:
Amiga 500
Atari ST
Was it either one of those? I figure if we can isolate the machine we should be in with a chance to crack this puzzle once and for all. You can keep your "linear B", I just want to know what the name of this elusive computer game was.0
