Good idea sarabe, thanks again, and possibly she wont whine if she can hear us or knows we're in the same room as her..

Be careful that she doesn't get used to it. Because then, she won't be able to stay away from you at night. She is very young and it will take time for her to behave as an adult. Right now, she also probably needs to feel safe. I suggest you put her right outside your bedroom and leave the door open, so you can hear her, and she doesn't get bad habits of staying in your bedroom.

On the contrary, a dog that is happy and settled in her crate will eventually settle in her crate wherever it may be. Downstairs, in a hotel, at relatives, in the tent.....

However a dog that is distressed and left alone in the crate may learn to settle eventually but they are far more likely to end up with anxiety problems as an adult when seperated from their owner.

Their is a definate correlation, in my experience, with dogs that are vocal when left and being left to cry at night as a puppy.
A dog with a behaviour problem needs help not punishment.

    WHAT????!!!!!

Sorry that just goes to prove that KC reg means diddly squat.

She should be on four meals a day first thing in morning, no more than an hour before bed and two inbetween.

If it was from a KC breeder...sounds more like a puppy farm job to me
