All those folk who are saying 'don't let your puppy go where other dogs go' - what happens when a puppy goes to a house where there are pre existing dogs?

Well, most pups are unlikely to be visiting at that very early age and its probably best not to take them - if you mean you already have dogs, then you would know they had up to date innocs and were currently healthy.

More pre-existing dogs will be vaccination. It's advised not to take your puppy to areas where lots of dogs are so that they dont come into contact with unvaccinated dogs or risk picking up dieases in these areas from unvaccination dogs. There's not a huge risk of a pre-existing dog carrying a disease home, and puppies do have a certain amount of disease immnity from their mothers colostrum/milk. Although, if there's known outbreaks of a diease in an area I would avoid taking pre-existing dogs dog-popular places.

Hope that those that are so paranoid are also not wearing their out door clothes and shoes in to their houses

I love dogs but reading this thread has confirmed that I will never own one (esp from pup) - sounds more work than a human baby!

    Worse

Least a baby grows up and make it to the toilet and manages to dispose of it on his own eventually. Dogs always need their owners to clean up after them till the day they die

Still i wouldnt have done without my boys. Even though I know this is my last one

I disagree but I'm probably a little biased.

I have two children. They are called first and last. Dogs on the other hand, I have quite a few.
A dog with a behaviour problem needs help not punishment.

Data I have seen from Intervet, who make vaccines, indicates that more dogs are destroyed because of behavioural problems than die from those diseases we vaccinate against.

So which should be the priority? Behavioural education, or disease prevention?
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

Does one need to be a priority? Are they not both of equal importance?

If dogs dont get vaccinated then surely health issues will just increase?
