The same happened to me in TK Maxx. I just said, "You don't need that information."
In Phones4U, I was asked to complete a form with my name, address, how many airtime minutes I used per month, etc. so that the manager "could assess my usage and find me the best deal". I looked at the small print and it basically said, "You agree to giving us your personal data to store in a database and sell to any number of companies for profit...". So I explained that they could ask me questions directly if they wanted. With the shocking sales tactics that followed, including outright lies and blatent deception, I left the shop and will never return. So much for earning a few extra pennies by selling my data...0 -
Like it!
There is one financial services provider which is currently sending all their junk mail addressed to me to their own head office address
I've also been known to use SW1A 1 AA if I have to to get my refund!
Hello Princess
SW1A 2AA is a good post-code to use, house number 100 -

The only scenario where you have to give out your details is when your buying something like a TV where it's illegal for retailers to not take your postcode and house number. Retailers may ask you for it during refunds but you shouldn't have to give it out if you don't want to.I try to help as much as I can. But I'm also honest and speak my mind.

You still don't have to give out your own details though.0 -

Are you talking about when buying a TV or getting a refund?
If you give false details when returning something that turns out not to be faulty (whether through error or dishonestly), the fact that you gave false details would add weight to the argument that you asked for a refund fraudulently.0 -
There is a genuine postcode in Lancashire of BL0 0DY - think I'll use that!:rotfl:I want my sun-drenched, wind-swept Ingrid Bergman kiss, Not in the next life, I want it in this, I want it in this
