I just want to mention for anybody who is planning to make a sweet jar / box for a vegetarian friend, that most of these kinds of sweets are not vegetarian.
Just thought I would point it out, as a lot of people seem to not realise, and I wouldn't want to be the receiver of a gelatin filled present!
You can buy veggie sweets online, if you just google it, or some regular sweet websites list the ingredients or have a 'v' on some sweets. I could list some sweets that are veggie and easy to buy if anyone has this problem.0 -
I saw some 16 compartment boxes in woolworths today for £1.49 in the tools and car isle, I wish I had waited, I got mine off ebay.0

Well no luck re retro boxes, B&Q cheapest was £6.48, Wickes was £6.99 and also one that had screws in £14.99 and a Stanley one £19.99 just for a box.
Maplins was £4.99 not very big. None in woolworths or Tesco, don't have any of the £ shops you all mention anywhere near here.
Perhaps I'm just being a cheapskate but I didn't want to spend £5 + sweets aswell.
Anyway thank you for all your suggestions. I'll have another look on ebay again.
Sorry you can't find any boxes, as mary suggested, a jar is a good alternative, I'm doing a couple of jars too - got them from Ikea. If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

Some people have bought boxes from Woolies for £1 - in the DIY section. Tesco apparently have had them too (can't remember price £1 or £1.50 I think) again in DIY.
