You can imagine the kids feeling like they'd really won a great prize with those. Very proud of themselves I bet :-)

wowzers they look amazing and look how good value they are!!!

they would make ace kids party bag type things for birthdays too!

Thanks jamtart. They do look quite feeble compared to your rather splendid bouquet! I want one and my sweet/choccy mad DD would be in heaven with something like you've made!! :p

Normally the kids at school just hand over a bag of haribo as a prize so thought this would at least be something different (doesn't exactly conform to their healthy eating policy though)!

I hadn't thought about them as an idea for party bags, but they'd be perfect actually.
:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j

I'm sure i saw some orange flavoured sweets in there?? surely thats healthy! they do look really great! i think everyones sweety type things have looked great and isnt it nice when you make it up and think wow, they looked carp as selection boxes/bags of sweets/leftover halloween stuff and now they look ace with a little inspiration behind them!

As for the choccy mad OH, he was still on morphine and getting anasthetic out of his system last night when I gave it, 24 hours later he reports he's eaten the twix, buttons, malteasers, mars, snicker and star bursts...so I can safely assume hes on the mend...good healthy food :rotfl::rotfl:

  • Jamtart - i made one of those sweet explosions for my nephews birthday, his face when i gave him it was a picture, now ive got to make one for his brothers birthday on 1st Dec and also my DS birthday on the 24th dec  . I gave him money so having that aswell made it feel like i just hadnt given him boring money and not put any thought into his birthday.

i hope your partner gets better soon, and you did a great job.

Thanks for that! Im sure your nephew adored it! Good luck for the next one!! Cant believe how many people have commented on it. I think because I made it and was so close to it it looks like sweets in a plant pot now! haha! :rotfl:
ALl the ideas on here are just that bit different which makes a cheaper present really quirky!

  • Hi all,

I'm feeling very inspired by all your lovely sweet presents & I've decided to do the sweet boxes for my works colleagues. I need to order the sweets online as I want to order retro sweets that are hard to find but I am unsure as to what quantities will be required. I have 6 of these boxes from the range to fill:

They are 18 compartment boxes measuring 20.8 x 10.8cm & I wondered if anybody knew roughly from experience what weight of sweets would be needed to fill 6 individual compartments. I'm looking at boiled sweets such as Rosy Apples, Sweet Peanuts etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Kirsty reanne,

Can I ask you where you got your box with the compartments in from please.

I cant help you with the sweets other than what about having a look round woolworths, wilkinsons, iceland and any other sweet shops rather than order online and maybe ordering too many or too little.

I filled my boxes up last year with all different kinds of sweets and bubbly gums from a traditional sweetshop which im lucky is just around the corner.
  • kirstyreannes box looks very similar to the box i got in the range for £1.99 :)
