Sorry your spa day wasn't very relaxing biscuitmad. Fingers crossed for July being a lucky month for you!

3 weeks today for me and ghostlove!

Now, rather than getting on with my wedding jobs, I'm being distracted by whims and romance....

Are any of you making a speech at your wedding? I was pondering the idea, and I've found a lovely short poem that is directed at OH, says how I love him and fits beautifully with our 'sort of theme.' I thought I might read it before/after he says his speech. I think he'd rather I didn't say anything...:rotfl:

Also, something new - shoes - check, something borrowed - tiara and veil check, something blue - my ring - check. Nothing old though - do you girls have anything 'old' you've planned?

Haven't read back yet but just wanted to post first to say that I AM NOW 9ST 7LBS!!!! 1 whole stone lost!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :beer:

wanchai (and anyone else that has 100+ guests) I really feel for the amount of work you have to do. :eek: I'm sticking a seemingly never-ending pile of place cards for our 56 guests - I've been at it for hours for two nights now! I guess it's the same for the favours, invites and thank yous!

Aw, that sounds lovely BB! I think that your OH would be touched if you made a speech. I might make one, not sure yet. Is anyone else?

My things are:
Old: my mum's earrings
New: dress etc
Borrowed: my mum's bracelet
Blue: 'I Do' stickers for the soles of my shoes! Plus I have a sixpence

I think the 'I Do' blue sole sparkles are super cute for a church ceremony. I would have liked some, but we are getting married in a garden, and I'm wearing wedges, so they'd have got squished!

Re the poem, it is related to where we got engaged, which OH may mention in his speech, so I thought maybe I would say it after his speech, so as not to spoil his story. I think OH is planning a witty handover to his best man though, as a riposte to what his best man said to him, when the roles were reversed at our best man's wedding! So maybe I could slot in after my Dad, and just keep any spoken intro to the poem minimal? Or just keep quiet

Speeches- hell no - we wrote on the invite "No speeches allowed" - hopefully people will respect that - I've joked to MrD that on the day(s) we'll have to make sure we're never in the same room :rotfl:

Well I have done the front hedge - hate doing that one cause you have to do all sides of it. At least with the side ones we do one side and the neighbour does the other!
MrD has done the outside part of the new waste pipe stuff for the kitchen/downstairs toilet. He's now just chopping up the concrete path so we can finish burying an electrical cable (that feeds the shed).
Then we'll have lunch - after lunch - my jobs - finish cleaning the kitchen. His jobs do the inside part of the new waste pipe stuff. I feel like it will all come together in time

Forgot to say my something old etc. I'll wear my 'non-engagement' ring on my other hand (although not sure which finger at the moment - if it doesn't fit any on the day depending on how swollen my fingers are I might just pop it down my cleavage for the ceremony lol classy).
Old: The design - same as my 21st birthday ring.
New(er): The 18k white gold band and claws
Borrowed: 2 of my grandma's engagement ring's diamonds
Blue: the sapphire from my 21st birthday ring that MrD bought me
