whoops . . . posted too quick.
Wanchai - its not really half a pound on, it will be atmospheric pressure. I read once on the internet that this can cause weight fluctuations. So it must be true :rotfl: Did you measure yourself? If so, measure again as you may have lost inches not pounds and they are the most important after all. Chin up chick!
:j SKS - on booking the honeymoon. I am having my first ever outing to Center Parcs this weekend for a hen night.
BB - how diod the trail go?
:j LL for your rings. I haven't even ordered H2B's yet.0 -
Woo hoo Mel!!! And I love the grand entrance idea, I'm sure you're nervous but also thrilled at the thought!
Can you have 4 witnesses btw? I thought that it was 2.
LOL at your atmospheric pressure theory!!! :rotfl: I'm doing another WI on Friday and am desperately hoping to see a loss! I never measured myself - wish I had, as I defo have lost inches, my fave jeans fit better now than they did 2 months agobut might measure on Friday and use that as a starting point too. Good idea xx

Sorry for not being very chatty - usual work stuff getting in the way!!
Getting irritated that I can't find anything perfect for our 'leaving the registry office' music. I'm so aware that this is going to be the first piece of music that we hear as married people... I want it to be something momentous, that we can cherish forever - and nothing seems to be right - argh!! I did contemplate 'Two in a million' by SClub7. The words are perfect and I found an instrumental (without backing vocals) but it just doesn't feel right. (Not like my Labyrinth music to walk in). ARGH!
Oh and certainly in our enhanced ceremony at the registry office we can have up to 4 witnesses - minimum of 2.0 -
Ooh witnesses, there's something missing from my to-do list (and I'm sure it's not the only thing I've forgotten - good thing I have you organised folks to remind me).
Hair and make up trial went well. I'm just having my hair in heated rollers with lots of spray and a bit of a beehive-esque bump for my tiara to sit on, but no pins or anything in it. It looked pretty good, although I'd like it to look longer. The hairstylist said I should use deep conditioners and no cutting it between now and July (my hairdresser had said have lots of trims ... hmm..). I washed my hair at 10pm last night, and the stylist said my hair was still too fluffy, so the night before the wedding I should wash it earlier.
I was in two minds about whether to do my own make up. At first she'd chosen very grey eyeshadows. I don't normally wear eye shadow and felt I looked a bit punched in the eyes - not quite the natural glowing look I was hoping for. However, when I said I'd prefer light yellows and golds and I wanted less under my eyes, she rubbed most of it off and re-did it. I said I normally wear liquid eyeliner too, so she put that on as well. I as happy with the end result - more make up than I'd normally wear, but it looked nicely done.
One thing I'm not sure about - the eye shadow was quite sparkly - will this just make my eyelids look wrinkly in photos?
I've been told again to drink more water, and this time to exfoliate my face and lips regularlytoo... ooh it's going to be time-consuming over the next three months trying to get ship-shape!0 -
Whoop for your trial BabyBoots!!!! Makeup is tricky so it's great that you've found a look that you like. No idea about sparkly shadow, I guess it depends on how good its staying power is.
Your hairstyle sounds gorge. So glad that you got it sorted. I want something very sleek and 1950s-esque, possibly with a bit of height. No curled bits, no sticky-out bits, no dangly wisps at the front and no fuss - just pure glamour and simplicity!Something a bit like this (picture it with blonde hair though!):

Oooh, I know, it's hard finding the time to exercise and buff ourselves as well as wedding planning lol!!!
I reckon we'll just have our BM and best man as witnesses, but I would like to have our mums. Hmmm...7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

Woo hoo my cheque for my new passport has been cashed - fingers crossed it all goes through ok. Cannot wait to get it back in my married name!!0

Hi everyone!
Wanchai and babyboots, I do zumba once or twice a week and it's one of them where the first few times you feel useless because you have to pick up the steps - stick with it though, do the bits you can do and for the rest of it just jog about and try and move your arms right, you'll soon pick it up! It took me about 8 classes before I felt reasonably confident with the moves, and even now I'm rubbish when she brings in a new song! I don't think I'd enjoy it as much if I went on my own though - I'd def say go with a friend so you can laugh at each other!
Babyboots, I've never know sparkly eyeshadow to make your eyelids look wrinkly - if anything I would say it will add a bit of a glow. You could try and find a similar shade in a more pearl effect?
I'm going to be meeting my bargain florist tomorrow so will have to start looking at what I might want when I get back from the gym.
I've also got an interview on Monday so need to find the time to sort that out and find an outfit, I've been making do with all my old clothes which are slightly too big and look a bit scruffy, but iot looks like I'll have to splash out. Do you reckon it's acceptable these days to wear a smart outfit that isn't a suit to an interview? e.g. nice trousers, blouse/top and smart cardi? Or should I do the traditional thing and buy a suit?
Will read and reply more later if I get a chance - I have no timeat the min! Off the the gym now for combat
xxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
:j for your hair and makeup. must be exciting seeing it all done?0
-
Oh wow - well done on getting an interview Mel!! The competition out there seems incredible at the moment. I plan on wearing my normal work dress (shift type thing) with a suit jacket to dress it up a bit, assuming I ever get an interview!!0
-
Evening everyone!!
Im shattered! I need a nice early night I think! I was so tired this afternoon, but I was good and dragged myself to the gym!!
I have arranged to finish at 4.30 on Monday so I can go and pay the balance of the registry office and get my passport form signed, then Ill get that sent straight off.
Mel- good luck with the interview. I think as long as your smart it doesnt matter if you arent wearing a suit.
Witnesses- Im having my oldest sister (my other 2 sisters are bridesmaid so it was my way of including her, plus her little one is my flowergirl) and I dont know who oh is having. It was meant to be his friend, but friend has been promoted to best man so Im not sure if he will still have him, or if he will have someone else.
SKS :j on booking your honeymoon, Ive been to centre parcs twice and had a brilliant time but stays.0
