I've ordered us a suitcase to ship all (or most) of our dive gear around on holiday with us
(what doesn't fit in there can go in with our normal luggage. (We never reach our limits).
I'm very pleased!! On Debenhams' website it is £36 reduced from £40... but on Tripps' direct website they have it for £29 plus free delivery :T I do love a bargain!!
Really isn't bad considering for a 'proper' dive bag we'd be looking at £80-100 easily!!
Plus this way it doesn't have dive brands plastered all over it so the luggage handlers won't think ca-ching when they see it
I'm a happy bunny!

See the bits in red:
I still need to make a definitive list - I can see it now being the morning of the wedding and here's me going "oh !!!! I forgot to buy a bra!" See that is exactly why my lists are so detailed - I would kick myself if for example after all the effort I've put into the paper hearts that I forgot to make them up before hand and ran out of time to complete them and hang them up.
Re: cake - we are probably going to go for an M&S cake - we'll buy it nearer then time as we'll have a better idea of how much we need, but I'm sure last year they were on 3for2? Does anyone know if this is a regular thing? Really not sure but I would say given that we're getting married in the peak wedding season then they'd probably do that to try to entice more people to buy them over alternates. I think Wanchai was under the impression they'd be on offer again when the time comes.
*Jewellery (maybe) I have a necklace/earrings that I wore when I first got my dress that looked really nice with it, but it's only from George at Asda :rotfl: tempted to get something a bit 'better' but don't wanna spend the money and also it means having to put my dress on to test it out which is a faff. I know EXACTLY what you mean, and part of me says it's my wedding day if I can splash out on a bit of bling for then - when can I? But the the MSE part of me says not to be so bloody silly and who cares if it's a 'cheapo' necklace - I nearly bought one in Accessorize but for the reason of wanting something more erm... substantial (ha) I didn't
*Tights - is anyone going to wear tights/hold ups? I dunno? Might get some of those M&S cooling ones that make your legs feel cold. I really don't know - I have got some very thin pale toeless ones - that I *may* wear - My worry is if it's a hot day then my upper thighs'll rub together (lovely!) and it'll be all uncomfy whereas if I was to wear tights they wouldn't do that - plus I wouldn't feel as exposed.
*Present - dunno whether to get him anything really. After all, he does get me! And I've bought him a wedding ring (well it was free with tesco points). Socks maybeI think there are some lovely ideas on here - like cufflinks etc but only you really know your OH and what he'd appreciate. I have bought MrD something rude for us to mess about with in the evening
but it's going to be stressful making sure it's a secret and he opens it on his own!

Afternoon . . . . . don't be fooled by the beautiful blue sky. Its freezing out there still. Had the exciting task of taking everything to the tip that i have sorted out during this week. All cleared and gone so a successful half term for me! I would like to know how come the working week doesn't fly this quick!
Having a chill out this afternoon before work again tomorrow. Can't believe its only 6 weeks until the Easter break. Then after that the countdown really does start to July!0 -
OOh Natalie - your dive trip is really coming together and i love that your impatient like me and can't wait to purchase your case!!
Mel1 - I have some lovely 'cheapy' pearls from Tesco. i love them but again i feel like i should perhaps spend a little bit on my bling because everyone will see it.
As for the underwear issue i am worried it will be to warm in July for tignts/stockings etc so i'm going bare legged with No7 leg sheen for my shins. It has a lovely gold shimmer to it and makes your legs look glowing and dewy. Then i am buying some 'special underwear' to put on my first morning as Mrs C to travel to the airport.0 -
Its quite nice here in the sun, I had good intentions to talk to the wedding fayre and back, reckon its about 1.2 miles each way, got half way there and ohs step dad drove passed (hes a taxi driver) and offered me a lift, I did walk home though and ive been to the gym today!
:j on getting your new suitcase for your dive stuff.
Mel- I think they do the 3 for 2 regularly, im not sure how much in advance they can be ordered though.
Tracey- I like charcoal suits, and would love oh to pick one, but I bet he will go for black!0 -

That's what I think, I don't want it to look rubbish on the day and everyone to be thinking, oh nice dress but the jewellery looks like she got it from Primark haha. I have seen something in a similar style on the Debenhams website which works out at £37 for earrings, necklace and bracelet (and my original stuff doesn't have a bracelet which I think I will need being as I'll be bare armed) so may splash out on that when there's a code or voucher about.
Well, there's two options actually - THIS which is the most similar to what I already have or THIS which would bring out some of the pearl detail in the dress - any thoughts? (the rest of the set are in the related items section further down).
My worry is the same as Natalie's if it's warm, I don't want any chafing- maybe I should find some bridal cycling shorts!
Glad you have got everything done that you wanted to. I am trying to do as little as possible as it's the last day - these 6 weeks are CRAZY in my school as I have 92 GCSE students and 28 A Levels students all trying to get practical coursework projects finished. Goodbye lunchtimes! It may be helpful with the diet though, every cloud eh!
That sounds like a bargain for the suitcase Natalie - I need to find us a couple of suitcases for the honeymoon, we haven't really got any because we haven't been on a proper holiday before, we usually just go in the UK so it's a holdall in the back of the car! I don't think I'd trust a holdall being chucked around in a plane.
Also - has anyone been to Portugal before? I'm unsure as to how much money I should set aside to take. I'm thinking of taking £400 in Euros but having an extra £300 in the bank to withdraw if neccesary? I'm generally pretty frugal but don't want to have to cut back on this one being as it's our honeymoon! So want to have enough for the odd excursion etc.

Cake question - Any idea on the best before dates on there cakes? Do they have a long shelf life do you think? I am worried about how to put them together . . . how are you ladies doing it?0
-
On which ones, the M&S ones? I guess fruitcake will last ages, sponge not so much.
When you stack cake you use dowelling to poke into the cakes, if you stack them directly on top of each other you take them off the baseboard and just poke the dowels up into the next layer of the cake.
If you want a gap, you leave the cake on the board and you buy the little pillars that fit onto the dowels and use that to stand the next layer on.
Unless you've got a special cake stand!

Mel- I like both sets but personally I like pearls so prefer the second set.
Im glad Im not the only worrying about chaffing- chubby legs under a big thick heavy layered dress in July could be a bad idea!!:rotfl: I seriously dont know what to do!
Melanie- it would depend where you get your cakes from but m and s website says:
Fruit cake: Vine fruits, nuts and cherries laced with brandy. Fruit cakes can be eaten up to 14 days after collection
Sponge cake: All-butter sponge filled with buttercream and raspberry jam. Sponge cakes can be eaten up to 5 days after collection0
