Natalie and Wanchai- you can do it, and just think if you start now and maintained a steady 1lb a week loss you would be on target for being your ideal weight for your weddings. I know its easier to say than do, but once you get in the right frame of mind you will find it much easier. (please remind me of this if I fall of the healthy eating bandwagon anytime soon- which is a possibility!!)
Well im back from the gym! Had a good work out and now Im shattered!:D
Natalie- well done on getting the invites all sorted- I need to work out how to address my envelopes!
Wanchai- I say buy it!! (although I would be happy if I never have to go near a sewing machine for the rest of my life- awful textiles teacher put me off for life, luckily ohs mum if a whizz on a sewing machine so she does all our alterations/ fixing of clothes etc!)0 -
Well I actually meant today - lol we finished eating the chocolate cake I made yesterday so it seemed like a good time to start. But my officially weigh ins are going to be on a Tuesday (the day of the ceremony), my aim is to shed the retained water between now and Tuesday (well as much as I can in two days) so next week's loss (see positive thinking) will be a truer reflection.
I am sat here making up all sorts of stationery to email to our guests when they have RSVPd. I already had the accommodation list done and saved as a PDF, and have emailed that out to people who wanted to plan ahead. I'd also kinda got a 'directions' sheet made for people coming to the ceremony, but I need to double check MrD's mum would be happy to have my brothers turn up there before the ceremony - I think it'd be the easiest way for them all - that way noone will get lost/turn up late. (especially as my big brother is coming from London on the day). But I'm now creating a list of taxi firms so people who are coming to the party can bring it with them and get a taxi from their hotel, and also book them for going home and I don't have to worry about it. I think that's all the information everyone'd need. Can you think of anything you might want to know if you were a guest at our bizzare party?
And wanchai - do it - buy it!
But is it a good machine for that price?
Wow, you've thought of everything!!!!! Good info for your guests xx
OK, I'm on for Tuesday WIs even thought my wedding is on a Saturday - will do it on the same day as you! I'm going for sushi shortly, starting the healthy eating right now!PinkPrincess83 wrote: »Natalie and Wanchai- you can do it, and just think if you start now and maintained a steady 1lb a week loss you would be on target for being your ideal weight for your weddings. Having a weddingy weekend!!:j
Yesterday i brought our post box from M&S, our guest book from paperchase and got a linen feel paper tablecloth in purple for the cake table and some lovely purple inked gel pens to put out with the guest book.
I then sat yesterday evening and made a start on my day invites. Paper is cut and glued on. The ribbon is 'bowed' and the pearl bits glued on so i just need to glue gun the ribbon to the cards and add the inserts! Look much better this time round :rotfl:
Natalie - the cake looked scrummy and i was actually drooling! I really miss cakeI will be a slim(mer) bride, I WILL!!!!!!! and that chocolate i have found in the bottom of my wardrobe will remain sealed, it absolutely will.
H2B is looking at stag ideas at the mo and he is looking at going to Newcastle and just had came across a company that offers male waxing as part of their day package . . . . ball waxing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really??!! Stags do that? :rotfl: I have offered to pay for that and watch!!!:rotfl:0 -
Oh sounds like youve had a successful wedding related weekend then Melanie. Have you tried the glue gun with the ribbon yet? I found that thin double sided tape worked a lot better (it may have just been my shiny paper but it kept sliding about when I used the glue gun). Oh and I did :rotfl: at your status!! :rotfl: at your suggesting for ohs stag do!!
Natalie- I was going to suggest you could look at making it yourself, your very crafty and talented so I reckon if you could get the right kind of shaped bead/ crystals you could make something really pretty- and it would be to your taste.
We can and we will all do it!!:D0 -

Quite easy! Have you got a glue gun? Just buy a comb, then the crystals that you want, play around with the design on a flat surface/piece of paper, then get gluing et voila! A unique haircomb! Glue guns are quite cheap so it should work out v. cost effective. :A You seem to be well into creative stuff so I say go for itFutureCooper wrote: »Having a weddingy weekend!!:j

Oh, can I have a link to your guest book? Am considering making one but not sure if it's worth the effort
wanchai - buy the sewing machine, you won't regret it!!! I love mine and do lots of crafty stuff with it
I may have to join in this fitness/diet malarkeyYou've all inspired me! ---> :j this will be me doing my star jumps!
*Ahem* - can I ask you all a teeny favour? Could you have a look at my blog (as yet not launched!) and tell me what you think of the colours, layout etc? So far I'm only on FB and have about 160 likers (which is amazing, am surprised lol), but am going to launch my blog this week and see what kind of reception it gets

I am very tempted to have a go at making a hair comb - this afternoon I've been looking at a full alice band covered in crystals and there are some really nice ones out there but for far too much money. And I don't really want a full one. I think I might get a comb and some gems - found a place I can get a 5cm metal comb for around £1.50!!0

Pearly - http://www.paperchase.co.uk/invt/00490819/ this is a link to similar that i brought. However, i cant find the exact one! Mine was £8.25 with just purple/pink butterflies and a purple ribbon tie on the side. The pages are alovely quality brown paper.
Also you can send me a link to your blog and i'll have a gander for you.
Natalie - Def make your own hairslide. It is quite simple as long as you keep it simple. It might be an idea to get a cheap brooch with the right crystals and add that to your slide or band. That's what i'm looking at doing IF i ever decide on my hairstyle. My hairdresser is in charge of that department!!
Sadly H2B declined on my offer for his stag 'do' but he is thinking about the male stripper package!! 2hours tuition and he gets to keep the velcro pants!! :rotfl: The stags parties look more interesting than the ones they offer the hens!0 -
Will have a look at brooches but I won't hold my breath lol. Mainly because I envision them to be rather round by nature - where as I'm pretty much after a single strip of crystals.
Right am off searching for crystally bits0
