Because it'd go with her dress! Lol. I do admit she's chosen a lovely outfit and a burgundy buttonhole would go very nicely with it. But she's not having one lol. It's her own fault for choosing a dress with burgundy in
Hurrah for finding the double sided tape! Lol I still can't believe we haven't seen photos of your invites! :rotfl:0 -
Oh I see. Well she knew what colour buttonhole she was having before didnt she. And surely ivory or white will go anyway?
I know, Im rubbish. I am useless with working out how to put pics on! And you have actually been the lucky one who has seen them!! I have 4 to finish but cant do those until I remember to take them to work and cut them to size. Oh offered to do it at his work- until he realised it was pink then seemed to not say anything else!!:rotfl:0 -
:rotfl: my memory is shocking! I think I remember your invites lol!
I've just been googling wedding readings. I'm quite taken with having Dr suess's oh the places you'll go read out. The biggest problem I can see is going to be deciding on who does what. I've thought my granddad can walk with me down the aisle. Our mum's can be our witnesses. MrD's dad can read the 'these hands' reading. But then who do we choose Jo do another reading? Out of our remaining 3 siblings. My first call would be my biggest brother. But then he's making our Mr & Mrs sign so maybe it could be my other brother. But he's dyslexic so not sure if he'd want the pressure. Argh. Lol and I'm not talking to MrD about this till Easter lol... By then he should be psyched up enough for me to not panic him! Ha!.0 -
I did show you, I emailed it to you (ivory with pink butterflies and pink ribbon)!
What about the 3rd sibling? haha- im sure MrD wont get panicked!! Oh did you not shopping for MrDs ring today??0 -
The 3rd sibling is his sister and well if she read it then every one of his side would be involved in some way and neither of my brothers would be. Besides I think she'd hate it, standing up in front of everyone.
Lol we were supposed to go look but MrD took the car and I forgot till about 2. Will do it next weekend :-)
Well I have just weighed myself. Not happy at all. I an now 21lbs above where I'd like to be for the wedding! Really must pull my finger out! Bloody weight!0 -
Today's plans:
* Finish addressing the invites.
* Pop to MrD's mums and see what she thought to the buttonhole
* Check to see whether she'd mind if my brothers went to her house in the morning so they could all go to the registry office together (and not get lost in town/turn up late).
* Continue the search for the perfect hair comb
* Find MrD some dive boots to order on Tuesday.0 -
Invites all addressed and ready to go
Have also made a new page on my spreadsheet just for RSVPs so I know who I need to chase up. I'll be mad if we have to chase anyone up though - I'm only asking for an email - how hard is that going to be!! So there are now three piles - ones for me to post when I break up for half term (as I drive home); ones to drop off at MrD's mum's who can distribute them to her family as and when she sees them; and ones for MrD to take to work to distribute.
I have also addressed all the thank you card envelopes (whether it's just a thank you for coming, or thank you for your best wishes sorry you couldn't come).0 -
So I have created:
4 x 'full' invites with 2nd class large stamps
6 x 'reception' invites with 2nd class large stamps
2 x 'full' invites without stamps
11 x 'reception' invites without stamps
10 x thank you cards with 2nd class large stamps and with 2nd class large stamped addressed return envelopes
13 x thank you cards without stamps but with return (unstamped) envelopes.
This came to £75.42
Or £1.48 per person
(Or £3.28 an invite & thank you card).0 -
Morning all! Slightly fuzzy head hereWanchai - you're not the only one - I've been eating crap for 2 weeks now. We've both said we need to stop it - tomorrow is a new start!
Join me?
Is this tomorrow as in Monday? As you wrote this yesterday I'm not quite sure! :rotfl: But yes, I will defo join you. I'm also about 21lbs above where I want to be, so we are weight loss twins! Ready, steady, go!
Your OH's mum should just shut up and wear the white buttonhole!
Bet you can't wait to send out your invites... I haven't even started ours! But I'm going to meet the guy who's doing them this week or next and get the ball rolling properly.
Emma - yay for you finding the double-sided tape! Send me a pic of your invites too, would love to see them x
Right, I'm going to get into full-on wedding planning mode today. I promise to at least have a comprehensive to-do list by tonight, even if I haven't done anything on it!!!I want to start thinking about what things I can make for the wedding. I am also considering buying this sewing machine - I want one anyway and it would be so handy for making bunting etc: http://www.kgbdeals.co.uk/national/deals/76905/toyota-sewing-machine---aisin-europe-sa---national?utm_source=ym&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=dailydeal&utm_term=76905&utm_content=national&kigdb=b87c1b15-2751-44ed-95f7-97c0882647d5

Well I actually meant today - lol we finished eating the chocolate cake I made yesterday so it seemed like a good time to start. But my officially weigh ins are going to be on a Tuesday (the day of the ceremony), my aim is to shed the retained water between now and Tuesday (well as much as I can in two days) so next week's loss (see positive thinking) will be a truer reflection.I am sat here making up all sorts of stationery to email to our guests when they have RSVPd. I already had the accommodation list done and saved as a PDF, and have emailed that out to people who wanted to plan ahead. I'd also kinda got a 'directions' sheet made for people coming to the ceremony, but I need to double check MrD's mum would be happy to have my brothers turn up there before the ceremony - I think it'd be the easiest way for them all - that way noone will get lost/turn up late. (especially as my big brother is coming from London on the day). But I'm now creating a list of taxi firms so people who are coming to the party can bring it with them and get a taxi from their hotel, and also book them for going home and I don't have to worry about it. I think that's all the information everyone'd need. Can you think of anything you might want to know if you were a guest at our bizzare party?
And wanchai - do it - buy it!0
