  • I stopped running at 7pm and my bum was still wobbling when i got to bed at 10.30pm!!! Junk in my trunk is an understatement.
I am going to get some warning strips - 'wide load' - for the wedding day if i can't shift this weight. That way the guests have been warned. Me + Big bum + big dress = large turning circle required!

    :rotfl:
On another note if you would like me to PM you the name of the FB company that have a courier service for chair covers, linens etc just let me know.

    That would be great thanks
I agree with PinkPrincess - lightweight will be the way to go for Cuba, so get your OH to check out Monsoon etc for light, floaty dresses. And they are pretty cheap! STAY AWAY from taffeta in particular, it creases like mad!

I've had a sneak peak on Monsoon myself although the prices are great dont they look plain? or is it me being a bloke? thought women would want more lace to the dress so to speak.. Although I do take your point regarding the weight of the dress..

Also wishing all the ladies good luck on losing weight
  • I havent looked at the current monsoon dresses so not sure what they have, but in the past they have had some lovely (and not plain dresses).

Full price it would blow her dress budget, but there is a range of dresses by maggie sottero called destination dresses with are designed for weddings abroad and look lightweight and gorgeous, so it may be worth her looking at these and then trying to find it cheaper by scouring online (or persuading you she needs to spend more!!:rotfl:) or looking in sample sales.

Another alternate is to look at bridesmaid dresses and see if they do them in the white/ivory/colour she wants. I did consider this as a cheaper alternate to getting a tea length dress - in the end I've got with a full length dress and having the bottom shortened to tea length :)

Well, not every bride likes lace! :D Personally, I adore it, but your OH may not lol!
Jenny Packham dresses tend to be light and travel well, but are way out of your budget(and mine lol)... but there are some great lookalike dresses out there!!!

I love Natalie's suggestion of checking out BM dresses in bridal colours - my BM's dress is from the Dessy range, it's chiffon and comes in lots of colours.

Good morning peeps, well I feel happier today about the decision that I have to make. It's over whether to apply for a new job or not. I am a creature of habit and the idea of change freaks me out.

Well we have decided with all this running we're doing (as of next week the training ups itself to 4 days a week, albeit with a gentle 2mile run on Tuesday) we're going to have a treat night on a Friday night after our big run. So last night's treat was a gorgeous bit of fillet steak - nice big fat chunky bit cut at Morrisons' butchers, with a wooden spoon full of a crushed black peppercorn creamy sauce. (With the usual veggies). Followed by 6 profiteroles. It was YUM! And it was really nice to have something 'naughty' in moderation, and know that all the hard work running has paid for it :D This mornings very naughty sneaky peek shows it's done no damage whatsoever (where as if we'd had a Dominos pizza there would have been a 3-4lb increase lol). So I'm really pleased with that!! Running definitely rules lol.

I really want something weddingy to do - proper weddingy. I'm going to visit the bridal shop today to see if the Rainbow Club shoes colouring is right. I *think* I might send these ones back and exchange them for the next size up - and keep doing that till I find the perfect fit. THEN when my dress is ready for me to try on properly I can then take my Miss KG shoes for the fitting and see if they go - and if not I will then buy the Rainbow Club ones from a place that bleaches them if needed. Lol it sounds like a lot of faff but it gives me a mini-project plus it will save me around £20-30 than using a 'try before you dye' service from the usual bridal shoe shops.

Only 4 weeks to go till half term and I can send out invites out - hurrah!! Can't believe it's been 2 weeks since Christmas - where on earth has that time gone!! Eeeeek!

RIGHT I have made a decision. I'm going with my Miss KG shoes. I love them. Lol.
Not going to my Bridal Shop - lol it sounds strange but I actually don't want to see the sample dress. I want to see my dress the right length. :D
Budget wise this is the right decision. £79 + £10 bleaching. = Eeeek!! Where as my Miss KG shoes were a bargain £48.99.

So instead - I am going to take some photos for you all.

Okay some photos for you all :)

    My buttonholes:

MrD's suit, tie and buttonhole - lol he isn't wearing them all... I mocked it up. The red is wrong in this photo though - it looks more burnt orangy than burgundy! Will have another play in the summer when the sun is higher. (It's hard to not get long drawn out shadows in today's sun levels).

mitchmotch - love those luggage tags!! :) Are you buying them from etsy or doing them yourselves? Your cake is lovely too :D

Natalie - yay for the shoe decision!!!!!! I think it's the right one :) And I love your buttonholes, what a clever girl you are! And as for your dinner last night - drool!!!

I'm going to make a decision on a videographer today! Well, try to, anyway. :rotfl:
