  • Hey everyone and welcome new brides.:D

I am now qualified for another 3 years as a first aider as I passed my requalification today!!:D I did almost fall to bits as the assessor told me I was doing things in the wrong order, but I checked after with the teacher after and he said I was doing it in the right order, but it really knocked my confidence! Luckily I was able to carry on and pass!

I have also been to the gym so Im shattered! And ive been good today food wise.

Natalie- Im intrigued about the present- but not sure if I want to know or not!!:rotfl:Well at least you have the shoes so can check without thinking are they right or not and regretting not tryinh them.

I love doing the race for Life, you get cheered on the whole way round, the great south run was really good for that aswell.

Right im sure ive missed things out but I will be back in a bit- Im just running a bath and dont want it to overflow!!

I can imagine this being played at a summer wedding all light and fairy. (But in my tone deaf ears it got a bit high and screetchy towards the end).

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kTffgdNhNw (sorry about the
    20-second ad at the start!)
See now I prefer this one. I like the pitch of this one better - nice and deep. BUT I don't know if it's weddingy enough. It is rather slow and sedate. Would be a lovely piece to do yoga/relaxation to but not sure about it being celebratory enough. Hope that makes sense!!

This is the Stanton Lanier one I really like.

    From about 1:06. Love it!

And I also like this one of his:

    From the moment it starts.

(I really hope MrD likes something like this - I can see me walking down the aisle to him to this sort of twinkly music. Lol although there is NO WAY I'm walking for anywhere near 4-7mins!!! Lol I will be running down the aisle - no hanging about for me!)

I've reported it too :-) just too lazy to say everytime :-)
  • Mitchmotch- you are very close to me, Im in Hampshire aswell. There is another Southampton bride on here aswell (tfutcher), where are you getting married?

I found a piece of music I really liked last night- will have to go though my phone history and see if I can find it. Oh brother (best man) hasnt done a piece of music for us yet but I will nag him till he does- whats the point of having a musican as best man if we dont make him earn his role!!!:rotfl:.

My cake lady keeps updating her cupcake albums on facebook- and everytime she does its making it even harder for me to choose what we want as they are so fab. her best ones are vintage, but Im sure they can be tweaked a bit to fit in (so that although they still have a vintage twist they wont look out of place in our non vintage wedding- if that makes sense!!)

Oh and sorry Natalie but :rotfl:at your status!! It did make me laugh!

Were getting married in a church in Netley where I grew up and then having our reception at the rose bowl cos we both love cricket. Where abouts are you?
  • Oh thats a fab venue, we like cricket aswell, but have only been to the rose bowl a couple of times. Im in Portsmouth.
  • I'm Tasha :wave::wave:

I have a dress, problem is its a size 14/16 (it was an ebay bargain - brand new Dessy 1004 for £50!!) and I am a 22 (!) so I am trying to diet (currently on soup and 1 meal a day) and vaguely realise that I may not get into it so I am also keeping an eye on Monsoon bridal stuff as I quite like them. I am looking for a pair of wide fit size 8 shoes to buy and then customise myself :) I am not sure whether I will wear a hair flower or whether I want a tiara (when else will I get to wear one?!?!). I kind of do want a veil as I don't like my arms much and will like them even less post weightloss!! I would love to put this together for a bouquet pinterest.c om/pin/17732992252475998/

I have 1 adult bridesmaid who will be in a pewter coloured dress when I find one, lol.
Found suit, waistcoat and cravat hire for groom etc at formally yours and its £57 each which seems ok pricewise. I am having 2 nieces as little flowergirls and my daughter who will be 6.. the two little ones will be holding these once I have decorated them with flowers and ribbon/organza

I have lots of nieces and nephews and I think i want to include them all if I can. I have 2 ushers, 2 pageboys and a ring bearer who will all be in white shirts, black trousers and a champagne waistcoat and cravat (£13 very) I might get the ushers (they are 10) to walk down with the younger pages each holding a sign so once has "here", another has "comes" and so on to read here comes the bride ! lol cheeeesy but I love it

I have got some 40cm long twigs with battery fairy lights, I got 13 sets in gold, 2 in cream and 2 in silver thinking that I could make the gold into centrpieces but really not sure which direction to go with them? The tables are 5ft at the venue but no cloths so I thought I would rent them (does anyone know of a well priced place?) in gold and use lengths of turquoise organza as runners (£1 per metre), the chairs are gold edged with pink backs and seats - instead of covers I will tie organza bows at the top back of each one I think
  • oo scratch that on the price of organza - just found a 25m roll for £6.50!
  • yay i'm on the list, thanks :)
