Nothing weddingy planned.
REALLY must get this diet thing cracked - argh.
Jobs this weekend: Keep on top of the three rooms sorted already, spring clean the bedroom. Wash all clothes. Watch The Girl With the dragon tattoo trilogy.I have just ordered my scuba fins - yaaaaaaaaay!!
(Just need some wet suit boots, and a dive computer and then I'm pretty much sorted - other than some of the other big items like the 'life jacket' (BCD) you wear, and the regulator and hoses - but I'll hire them for now).

:j my oh is back!:D After 5 whole sleeps without him I am sooooooo happy he is back.
Swimming- me and my mum are quite leisurely swimmers but we are trying to increase the number of lengths each time, and I see it as half an hour of swimming is still better than half an hour on the sofa watching tv!! now oh is back though apparently we are going for a work out tomorrow!!
Natalie-:j on getting some more diving bits.
:jMelanie and rachel on it being 34 fridays.
No wedding related stuff for me this weekend. I did pick up some table name holders today- they are lovely. I havent got round to taking photos of anything yet, I will get round to it some time soon!! Went to the range today and mil2b got us a cutting knive for when we cut the cake, will make a nice keepsake of the day aswell!! I have been feeling a bit unmotivated this week for wedding bits as oh wasnt here and I was, but now he is back im sure ill find more bits to research and do!
Lovecake- good luck with the engagement shoot.0 -
Well in my boredom tonight I was looking at my cake ladies facebook page and have decided I cant wait til July to eat some more of her yummy cakes so have messaged her asking about some christmas cupcakes or cakepops- thought it would be nice to take them round mil2bs on christmas eve!!:D
Her cakes are so amazing im very tempted to just give her my colours and say flowers and butterflies and then give her full rein to do what she wants to its a nice suprise on the day- do you think this is too brave???0 -
Hi everyone!
I have been 'on the motorway' this week and am quite pleased with myself for sticking to things, went swimming Mon and Tue, parents evening Wednesday but then my good intentions of going to the gym were scuppered on Thursday and Friday by yet ANOTHER cold... I've had so many this year!
I have just made a black forest cake though so will be having a bit of a naughty treat later! The recipe is one I adapted from a chocolate orange cake - you melt butter and choc in a pan with 300g of jam or marmalade, then mix in the eggs and flour. - I've done it as a sandwich cake with cherry jam and whipped cream, and a bit of kirsch mixed in... yum!
Emma, I would well give your cake lady free reign - the surprise would be brilliant! As long as you give her the colours and stuff and make sure she knows anything you really DONT want...
Our tesco vouchers have arrived for OH's ring so we just have to wait for Goldsmiths to give us a ring to go and collect it - I forgot to ask in the shop roughly how long it would be so might have to make OH ring up and ask about it! I hate making phone calls. One of the worst things with this wedding planning has been that so many places don't put prices online? You have to ring up or email which takes ages, just give me a rough idea FGS!!
Anyway just off to go and put the dark chocolate ganache on the top of the cake
xThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
Mel- I think I will, her cakes are simply amazing, im so glad i found her and that she was doing an amazing deal at the time!! I think it will be nice to have a few suprises on the day, like I dont think Im going to know what oh, best man and stepdad are wearing until the day- and Im looking forward to walking into the reception and it all being set up and ready.
Ive been down the country lanes today! whoops! Mel- that cake sounds amazing- so yummy!!0 -
I'm whispering because I don't want to scare myself and to set myself up to fail again... but so far I'm back on the motorway - I managed to stick on it all day yesterday.
So yesterday I had a good spring cleaning day - got the bedroom sorted - and I've sorted out the bottom of my wardrobe and thrown out all my old shoe boxes! (Their contents are in the cupboard under the stairs so I don't know why I was keeping the boxes!!). I read a book yesterday - feels so indulgent to have a whole day to myself to enjoy as I choose. And today MrD has gone to Birmingham's bike show so I'm home alone again - and today's choosing is to watch The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo triology back to back.Think it's about 4 hrs worth of film So I'm trying to organise the timing of it so I get them all watched before he gets back but without too much time left to while away lol. Anyone see the episode of Alan Partridge when he's organising his viewing of his Jame's Bond collection? Lol that's me!!
Nothing weddingy here.
*edit*:T It's 9 hrs of film lol. I started it at 9:30 so I should just get it watched before MrD gets home

I know, I know!! My BM will kill me! :rotfl:
I also tried on this one, am really not keen on strapless dresses but it is gorgeous (massive skirt though ha ha).

Nothing weddingy from me and no motorway driving either! darn it . . . Xmas shopping yesterday in Cambridge and had a lovely calorie laden lunch followed by a chinese takeaway when i get home. Today i have been out and had coffee and cake. Going to avoid the scales in the morning as ignorance is bliss!!0

Well I've just put tea on (despite MrD being at his mum's- who knows when he'll be home!) and I have put stuff in the slow cooker ready for tomorrow and my lunches for the rest of the week :T. (Still whispering cause then I may not realise how good I've been and become determined to undermine it!0
