Melissa - OOh excited again about the shoes now! Pleased to hear someone has seen them for 'real'. I am hoping for a delivery today but no one is home to sign until after 3pm, so fingers crossed they leave them in the shed!
Not so grumpy today, so must make an extra effort to be nice to H2B as he always gets the rough end of my monthly mood!! :A
Also had an email from the printers to say that my coloured card has arrived and they will be printing and gate folding for me over the next few days. Then all i have to do is put them altogether. :T
I have decided (atm anyway) to hand write the addresses on the envelopes with a nice fountain pen and coloured ink. Brown ink i think as they are cream envelopes just to make them more personnel. I don't think a white label on a cream envelope will have the same effect. Is that going to far? matching ink and envelopes?!!0 -
OK, so off to County Hall tomorrow to give notice. Once that's done I'll get on with the Save the Date postcards, that's Sunday covered as I've got to work on Saturday, oh the pains of being a university administrator, it's the first UG open day of the season at work.
Looking forward to making the cards and actually having something to send to our guestsIt'll certainly shut the youngest aunt up (mind you pressure has been taken off me by my sister who is expecting a baby in January!) So that'll be an extra bod at the wedding, I'll have two nieces at my wedding, thinking I might buy a dress for the oldest as she'll be 18months at that point.
Looking forward to a day off tomorrow and not having to rise early for the train in the morning!0 -
Having one of those 'I love my H2B so much days and can't wait to be a Mrs' . . . . i thought it might be nice to reminisce on how we met our men. I'm sure you brides may have already done this but we newbies would like a catch up/refresher session!
I met OH 14 months ago when i was on a ' I have given up internet dating/men forever and want to stay on my dusty shelf for the rest of my life' kind of night. Alcohol was involved and he said it was love at first night for him. We exchanged numbers which i never, ever do when i meet a random in a pub. He felt trustworthy, LOL. He texted me as soon as i got in my taxi and the texts continued, then phone calls then dates. . . . . . . he proposed on Valentines Day. He came in to my work place (school) with a bouquet of Gerbera's (my fave) and did the whole one knee thing and produced the ring.
I swore to myself i would never marry again and having escaped it for 15 years i feel this person is soooo for me - how could i ever say No.
So now i find myself excitingly planning our Wedding and dreaming of the day i become Mrs Cooper and i can whole heartedly say it is for the rest of my life, hes THE ONE.0 -
Well I have already told all the oldies but for Melanie:
I was in a club on a saturday night and my friend had wandered off so I was on my own and just asked a bloke 'why dont you you dance' while mambo no 5 was playing! Anyway he quickly drunk his drink grabbed me and we started dancing, at the end of the night he wanted my number, but well I was 17 and wasnt going to give a 23 year old I had just met my number so took his, (with the intention on deleting it,) well on the monday I was talking to my friend and she persuaded me to text him her words 'you only have to go for a drink, no one is asking you to marry him'!! So I text him, we went for a drink and got on really well and just clicked, that was 10 and half years ago and I cant think of anyone more right for me.:D
I never thought I would meet someone more right for me, especially at the age of 17, but we have grown up and grown together as we get older and I cant wait to be Mrs H!!
I am so glad I text him!!0 -
I love this! My OH was my boss! We'd both left the company and he'd been talking to my friend (male but gay) on facebook. I told my friend I fancied the old boss and he said to send him a message. whih I did. Well, I got slightly drunk and sent him a message on fb saying text me, I mean tonight, not sometime in a few weeks, which 5 mins later I got a text. 4 years later, we're still together. Now I'm the boss! :rotfl:Married the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012. Little P born 29th Jan 20140

Melanie!!! Tut!! I was really happy to just write my wedding invite envelopes with a normal blue brio... now you have me wanting something possibly posher - but not caligraphy posh (wouldn't go with the invite and also they need to be readable by the postal system). Tut tut tut!! Lol.
Jemb awww lovely story about now being the boss!!
It is funny isn't it Melanie - about finding the one when you were no longer looking!!
Here's our story:
I was on a night out in Lincoln - home for the summer between my 1st and 2nd year at uni. MrD and a group of his mates were 'touring' the local towns and it was Lincoln's turn. He felt poorly so he wasn't drinking. Me on the other hand was completely wrecked lol. Anyway our eyes met across the dance floor (him stood on the edge - me on the stage lol - ooops!) A lot of sly smiling followed. Then he went to the loo... at this point I was gutted lol in my drunken mind he had left the nightclub - even though his friends were still there, so I stormed over to them and demanded to know where he'd gone... they told me, I went back to the stage and carried on dancing. He came back to his friends, they told him I'd come over, and I walked over to kiss him. But he is a gentleman and wouldn't let me kiss him without knowing my name... in the conversation that followed he told me where he lived (30 miles drive away from me in Louth), which turned me off. (I didn't drive and I didn't want the hassle) but he asked for my phone number. That was on the Saturday, he phoned me on the Tuesday, we met up two weeks later, and the rest is history. Scarily I was 19. When I think back to how young I was at 19, it freaks me out that I met The One so young!! We'll have been together exactly 13 years when we get married.0 -
Haha- I bet Natalie is noe sat there trying to work out how to make her envelopes posher!!:rotfl:
I love hearing about how people met there partners. Jem- I bet your so glad you plucked up the courage to message him!! Melanie- it was obviously meant to be with you and your oh. I do laugh when I look back at our meeting now, as I was only 17 I wasnt driving at the time and I think after asking his name and age (he was 23 and I thought theres no way a 23 year old would want anything serious with a 17 year old!!:rotfl:)the next question I asked him was if he drove, he got brownie points as he did!!:D. And Natalie, it doesnt freak me out at all, I look back and feel so glad I met him when I did as I look at some of my single friends and realise it really isnt easy to find 'the one' so consider myself so lucky I found him when I did!0 -
I think I'm just amazed that the young 19 year old me made such a good choice!!0

I don't think it's going too far, I'm a sucker for things like that! Like the brown and cream idea I think that'll look really smart.
I met mine when I was on a girly holiday in Skegness of all places with my best mate - we were incredibly drunk, he was working the bar and basically I was being a bit of a !!!!!!:o and took him home with me at the end of the night (to a tent :rotfl: we were camping!) We exchanged numbers, texted for a while and things just went from there!
We must all be quite astute when drunk too by the sound of it!!
xxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0
