Tracey - I would be in two minds too about wanting to know the sex - I think on the one hand that could be the biggest surprise of my life - but at the same time it'd be nice to know so you can plan/prepare a bit better. I don't envy you having to make your mind up when your OH is definitely sat in one camp.
Melanie - yaaaaaaaay at getting BOTH dresses AND the shoes!!I will keep my fingers crossed that the shoes fit
Hiya LoveCake - welcome to one of the most chattiest month threads on hereYou're getting Married on MrD's birthday :T (Do you have a real name which we can call you - it's easier than LC! lol)
LauraR - fab price for your cufflinks!! I've found out today my mum is on holiday (again!!) so that'll be why she hasn't replied about whether my granddad wears them or not d'oh! Lol you've put the cufflinks piccie on twice rather than the table confetti - but I did have a look at them on FB and they do look fab! And a bargain as well!
nothing weddingy from me.
Today was better at work cause we were allowed to just get on with our planning - much better.0 -

Hiya Rach - so come on then - lol tell us how far you've got in your wedding planning
(With pics if possible - lol we love them on this thread!)

Hello and welcome Rach, youve come to the right place if you want to chat wedding- we are such a chatty friendly bunch on here.:D
Tracey- I have always said I wont find out what we are having when we have baby H (not for a few more years yet!), but i may change my mind when I actually get to having to decide!! The heartbeat thing- i only heard about it when my best friend was pregnant, and the midwife said according to the heartbeat it would be a boy- and it was, but theres so many theories I wouldnt look into them too much!!
Well Im now unsure about my hair colour! Naturally dark brown, and I have dyed it for about year to a LIVE red colour, its not that bright- unless Im in the light then its bright red, but normally its like a dark red/ brown and I was thinking if it was red I would keep it red as I love it (and get loads of compliments- ie the other day in the wonderbra shop the shop assistant asked me what colour I used as she loved the colour), but when I got my haircut today my hairdresser asked what I was going to with the colour for the wedding, and I said keep it red and she was like 'but arent your bridesmaids in pink'. So now I have doubt in my mind! I was thinking as I wont be in pink myself and as my hair will probably be in some kind of bun it would be ok- but maybe it would clash! I dont really want to go back dark brown as it probably wouldnt take so well just using a home dye like I use at the moment! I guess I have plenty of time to decide!!0 -
Oh forgot to say
:jon ordering the dresses and shoes Melanie- which shoes were they? Bet your so glad the person mentioned it now.
:jon the cufflinks- what a bargain, and they will look fab with your colour scheme.
Oh and I picked up my ohs ring, its just right for what we need it for, and it fits. It looked strange to see him wearing a ring though!0 -
I am not sure I have heard an old wifes tale that if it is over 140 it is a girl and under 140 a boy. Mine was 150. Only another six weeks until my next scan when we can find out. My partner wants to and I am on the fence whether I want to know.
I cant say what I sounds like I was so drawn into the moment that I can't remember. I just kept thinking thats my babys heartbeat.
we are not having monograms but we are having our names and dates of wedding on some items to make it more personal to us.
Oh if I ever have one I will definitely find out, I HATE surprises lol! I'm so bad for it that if I watch a film or read a book I read the synopsis online first so I know what's going to happen! I never complain about spoilers lol.
Hello Rach :T Welcome to the thread! It's really nice and friendly here!
I think someone mentioned this before but we should so meet up after the weddings lol!
Good news about getting your stuff Melanie! I have my fingers crossed on the shoes! xxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
I think it would be good to meet up- although not sure on the logistics- i think 3 of us are close down here on the south and then I think some of you are quite close up north- but not sure where in the middle would be!!:D0
-
Definitely agree Mel - I think we should all meet up after our weddings and honeymoons - lets say October Half term 2012.
That'll give us all something post-wedding to look forward to!!
Emma - lol well you know I've been having dilemmas myself over my hair colour - I have decided when I get it coloured at the salon next time I'm going back to just plain old boring brown. I will see what I think to it. Although I do love my red hair I don't want to look back at the photos in years to come and think how fake it looks (even though I have it streaky with red highlights so it's not one block of colour). It's funny cause I last had it done right at the beginning of the summer holidays so pretty much all the red has faded and so many people are complimenting me on the colour - it's basically faded reddy brown with orangey bits in where she bleaches the highlights first!! Crazy - as if I'd do *this* (she says as she grabs her hair) on purpose!! Lol I'm waffling aren't I?! My advice would be - could you get your bridesmaids to try on their dress (can't remember if you've ordered them yet) and see what you think to you stood next to them. If it looks wrong then you have a year to get the brown to go right
Well it is official my work is bad for me. Yesterday I got home, after spending all day sat down hardly moving being 'trained', and laid on the floor to give Bun some fuss and Mark came and plonked himself on top of me... cue my spine popping (you know how your knuckles can do?). Then tonight I go to Yoga, lay down in semi-supine (on your back with your knees bent up), and I notice my breathing is all in my ribcage rather than in my navel (where it usually is when I'm all chilled out). Then about half way through she gets us to do some thoracic spine twists, if you imagine there was a rod going all the way through your spine so it was straight, and then you turned your shoulders to one side while keeping your hips facing forward. Well today I noticed I couldn't turn my shoulders very far round at all compared to normal. Just not good! (Although I was able to get my breathing more relaxed by the end, and I did manage to fall asleep at the end and wake myself up my squeaking ha!!)
Right suppose I should go and cook tea - MrD is at his mums.0 -

Hmmm well Leicester is pretty central... I don't mind travelling all the way there:D

Haha love that everyone is complimenting your 'bad' hair! That always happened to me recently too - I was going to colour my hair but then went swimming so put it off for that night, I met my friend and the pool and she actually asked me who'd coloured it for me :rotfl: it was a faded mousy mop with grey highlights lol! I'm back to my 'natural' chestnut at the minute, love the new John Frieda foam dyes.
Doesn't sound good about your back, hopefully it will settle itself soon!
I've just been having a sort out in the kitchen, trying to use stuff up before we move so I've just baked a victoria sponge, only problem is I've got no cream to put in the middle so it'll have to be just jam instead! xxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
I really dont want to be brown! I am trying to grow my hair (well I dont need to try, im the envy of most of my friends at how fast my hair grows!) and know that if I went brown I would be so bored of it I would get it all cut off so I wasnt so bored with it.
I do have my bridesmaid dresses, I cant find a picture of them at the mo though! I thought it would be fine, I mean I was just looking on facebook to show you a picture but it really doesnt look red red in any pictures!! I may get a dress out next time im at mil2b and will get her to hold it up and will stand next to it (Im thinking it may be an idea to do it when I eventually get round to trying my dress on) and I can just scoop my hair into a side bun and see how it looks.
Oh Natalie- that doesnt sound good about your back- work just isnt good for you!!:rotfl:0
