High revs 'flares' on Corsa S
I purchased a brand new Corsa S from a well known vauxhall dealership in march 2010. After a few weeks I found that I was getting high revs, described as 'flares' when changing up through the gears. After six long months of the car going back and forth to the dealership and vauxhall it was replaced for a new one. I now have the same problem with the new one.
Is this a problem with modern engines?. I am getting as high as 1000 extra revs when going from first to second gear.
I would like to know if anyone else has ahd this problem, or is it just me.

My peugeot 306 has been doing it for 10 years ...0

If the replacement car is doing it then I'd be looking at your driving style...0

Has anyone else sat next to you and watched how you drive and then driven the car themselves?0

Do you mean the throttle hangs whilst you change gear? Lots of cars do that helps smoother gear changes.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

How much higher do the revs go? All engines will rev slightly higher as the clutch takes the load off the engine?0

Now after just a few weeks the replacement Corsa has the same problem.I have been back to the dealership and their advice is to put more miles on the clock to try and rectify it.0 -
was reading up on this on the net and someone sent there 800 mile corsa back after numerous times and vauxahll fixed it but didnt say what it was which is wierd
the first garage fobbed him off that its the ECU increase the revs as you press the clutch to make a smoother gear change although this would only help really when coming down the box to speed the syncro's up0
