What
Well I spose I best keep them on the booking eh. Thanks
Eagle..If you've no kids and dont intend to spend a fortune on what the Bar's at these Haven sites charge, then I would say, dont bother with the passes..and choose a decent pub nearby where you dont get 'robbed' !
Its usually noisy, basic and definitely overpriced in all the Haven outlets, including the on site shop.
If you choose a site just to be a base for around and about the area, then these are ideal.
But I couldn't stay in one of these sites and stay on site. No way.
Dont get a pass. Take your own sheet/duvet/pillowcases/ ( or in our case, Pillows as well ! ) Buy your food from a local Supermarket. Take large breakfast mugs if you like more than a small cup.( Their cups are fairy cups )
You dont have to pay a fortune, they are after your brass !
Enjoy!0 -

I think you need the passes to get into the pool. So if you'll want to swim then you'll have to get them.
The bars are very expensive. We found out what drinks they sold and then went to Tesco and got a multi pack of five alive cartons and took them in the entertainment bar with us. It was so busy in there and dark that no-one noticed. We just had a bottle of wine when we got back to the caravan and the kids were in bed.
I'm not paying for linen. We all have sleeping bags and I always take my own pillows anyway. I've got some of the vacuum bags (the ones you roll, so you don't need a hoover) they don't take up a huge amount of space in the car.0 -

We will have 2 children with us so they will want swimming and stuff so we are gonna have to buy them. I will cancel bedding though and take our own sleeping bags.
But yes, I shall only buy what I need to onsite. I'll take a little bag of goodies so I dont have to buy shopping things on site, things like beans, toms, bacon, sausage etc and last time I went to caravan site (booked through private advert) I even took small pop bottle filled with washing up liquid and a one with cooking oil because its all these items which cost an arm and leg at the site shop.

We usually go to craig tara or haggerston castle. We went to Nairn Lochloy last June and loved it. We want to go to the lake district or somewhere different this time,
any suggestions will be appreciated. We have a 5 and 14 year old,
Sharon
Hi Sharon im orig from glasgow also live in lockerbie now and wen we cudnt get to craig tara in october we went to southport pontins. on arrival u get ur key passes and a book of special offers for around the park theres a lot there if u want to have a drink in the bar at night!! its ok the accomodation is a little dated its all chalets at this park which is storage heated there is a bedroom with 2 single beds in it and theres a sofa bed in the main living room its a little out of the 70s and we noticed a picture in the main foyer and its the exact same as it was then!!! the pool is 1 big pool with various small slides around it there no flumes at all. in the changing rooms there is 4 tiny cubicles again from the 70s!! in the main southport town there is a much better swimming pool which is very modern, theres also a sainsburys, morrisons in the town so get ur grocerys from there as its v expensive on site.the entertainment is a little better than havan the alcohol prices are around the same as havan and we had a good time though i still prefer havan! it is an ok site all round if u dont set ur expectations too high!! if u want to no anymore just ask hope to have helped0 -

Paid balance in full, now being contacted to say there has been a mistake on havens/the suns behalf, and too many holidays have been booked. I have the option to change park or dates, but surely now i will just have to sift through the leftovers that people don't want??
how can they do that!? i'd be raving! :mad:0 -

Booked by post and received confirmation from "Sue" today.
It did go to my spam folder (I use Gmail) so anyone who hasn't received yet maybe want to keep checking their spam folder for confirmation (or add the address holidaymail@communicatenow.co.uk to their safe senders list)
Yey! I was so worried I wasn't going to get a holiday after all the rock-er issues!0 -
