I'm getting married at the venue at 2pm - this will go into 'breakfast' at 3.30pm and evening guests arrive 7pm. This is traditional for my (Scottish) family. The party starts the minute you say I do...

We have decided to get all the family photos before we get married too (It is after al, only bad luck to see the groom the night before), so the party really does start when we say i do... lol. :beer:

Wow... more and more of us now!!!

One of my bridesmaids came to stay this weekend as my OH is away, and she raided my wedding magazine collection which got me all wedding focussed. I have been looking at cars and dresses this morning! Yay!!!

I am hoping to go and see the village hall with OH (Who has never seen it!) The week after next, as we're both off, then we can get that booked and then I can start properly planning!

Also... on the "Mum hating my dress" issue... we went to another shop, and every dress I tried wasn't as perfect as the other, so the owner has ordered my dream dress in my size for me to try on in May when it arrives... HOORAY!!! xXx

Date set for 12 April 2012! Have been with OH for 7 years on the 12 April this year, have been engaged 5 years yesterday and will be getting married 8 years to the day we met on our first date!

Have done nothing yet as we (I should say he) only decided on a date last night when he wrote in my V Day card "Let's get married 12 April 2012?" .... but I did arrange my dress maker and photographer this morning! If my dress maker is reading this (she's a member of this forum and we go back a few years but have never met!)... she'll know how flattered I am for her to be making my wedding dress! My photographer is a very old friend from high school - wow, now I am honoured to have her doing my photo's! I've also got a colour scheme in mind, based on the venue I plan on booking - Champagne and pale pink... gorgeous and vintage!

I look forward to planning with you right up to our big days....

Welcome and congrats Look to the future. I'm 7th April so week before you

I'm so excited! I found a dress maker on Saturday to do my BM dresses (going to ring round a few shops first and make sure no decent offers).

Started delivering my save the dates last week too (Marrying Easter sat and a lot of family have caravans)

We are going for a dark blue colour (darker than Royal lighter than Navy) and i have struggled to buy flowers but my aunty (the Star) bought some spray paint which is for flowers and is waterproof :-)

Bought BM gifts and Usher gifts - just 2 little BMs to buy for.

Love your blog! Your colours are similar to mine although i'm going with a dusky pink with a hint of lavender here and there....country garden type feel.

Well done on telling your mum, I take it that's the lady in your pic?? Stunning mummy!

Yip, that's my gorgeous mother! Love her to bits! She was thrilled when I told her and she's not stopped talking about it now! Had her in tears today because she read the poem to my sister!

Just made a rash decision and ordered Bridesmaid dresses from Debenhams in the sale... Fingers crossed they fit everyone ha ha.

Total savings including above from £7k budget = £1750.60

I'm having a really bad day today! I think i'm doubting myself and am just scared i won't be able to save our 4k budget in time for the wedding!

I keep getting scared but then i remind myself if worse comes to worse i'll get a loan... But that isn't really an option lol

We are saving 500per month to get a 7k wedding but everything i have bought has been quite big stuff so i haven't actually saved any money for the venue yet... Oops...
