Hi everyone,

I hope it's ok if I join in! My lovely man proposed 3 weeks and 4 days ago and my plans are runnning along nicely. I knew when I got engaged I couldn't wait ages to get married, and I am a bit of a worrier about getting things sorted so I had to get the venue and reception booked as soon as possible!

So last weekend I found my reception venue (local village hall, £140 for the whole day 9 am - 12am with 4 hours bar service, love it!!) and yesterday I booked my ceremony venue at a museum in my town, which as close as I could get to a church without all the religiousness :j So APRIL 14th 2012 here we come!!! ( really like the even-ness of the date and my parents and sister both got married on 14th of a month (august) so it's a special date)

Anyway, now I can start planning all the little details which I am very excited about, I want to craft as much as possible and make our wedding a little bit different but on a budget!

I'd love a medieval style dress, but may go down the vintage dress route instead - I can't WAIT to go wedding dress shopping :T

It'll be nice to be part of this group so I can see my planning goes in comparision - some of you are so organised I am super impressed!

Wow that dress is beautiful, exactly the type of thing I am looking for! It's been really frustrating as I saw your post but for some reason my work computer won't let me view images, so I could see you'd posted a pic but I couldn't look at it!!

If I find something like that I will be a very happy bunny

Wow, thanks for that, it's really pretty - I've got a few things I am looking at on ebay and I will certainly put that shop in my 'watch' list as I think they custom make them so hopefully it'll be an ongoing thing!

Yay! Notice given. Technically I can get married in 17 days when the licence comes out. Not sure I can wait for 10 months now lol

hi everyone!

Hows wedding planning going for everyone? We now have ceremony veue, reception venue and photographer booked. We've been to do the 'intention to marry' bit as well. It's scary how quickly costs mount up without even trying! (and I really am trying to be good and get things as cheap as possible!)

I have just bid on a dress on ebay, and I am really really hoping it's as nice at is in the pictures, the lady emailed me today to say she'd posted it out and I am very excited! Chances are I'll have an agonizing wait before picking the dress up from the post office though as I won't be here when they deliver and I am always at work when the post office where it gets sent is open! Which means I'll have to wait for a Saturday....

Anyway, no more updates really, except I've started the crafting bits of the wedding now. I love thinking about all the little details!

Just wanted to say..

I have found MY DRESS!!!! I could not be more excited, it's totally perfect, completely original and absolutely MSE (Well, I think £90 not's bad!).

It needs some tweaking to make it more 'mine' but it's everything I wanted and more, I am sooooooo HAPPY!! :T

It's all gone a bit quiet on the April 2012 thread, how is everyone else getting on?

Sorry not been on for ages! Congratulations Miss Bolan, very excited for you!! I'm glad you have found your dress, can't wait to hear about it once it arrives

Not much movement in my wedding plans, so far church, venue, photographer, cars and one part of honeymoon.....better get my backside into gear!

Having problems with my dress, I really struggle as an indecisive person at best of times but i just think all dresses are pretty and they are all lovely in their own right - help! I'm not one of these people that is in to that 'the one' thingy be it a dress or anything....any suggestions my lovely brides to be?? I need to get it soon as that'll help me plan the rest of my day/decs etc....i.e. if there is lace then i'll add lace into the day in flowers, other bits and so on.....i'm rubbish and feel really unorganised at the mo xx
