    OK, Other heat pump

INFO: HEAT RAD MODE - stop temp 22.5 present temp 37.0
    1.1 heat 5
    Again reset to 7
1.2 FINE TUNE SET AT 0.0 (Is the is the sensor influence)
No, this is just a heat tuning setting You need menu 1.11 to see this reading.

    MENU 3: return rad GT1 - ON 17.5 NOW 37.0
This is controlled by the GT2 sensor below, pump thinks is 25.4C outside, so no heating need, until the return flow is 17.5C
    OUT GT2 25.4
Is it really 25.4C outside at the moment? Is there a outside sensor for each pump on the North facing wall?
    HOT WATER GT3 TGT 51.0 NOW 52.1
    OK
    Compressor GT6 63.9
    FLUID OUT GT8 42.7
    FLUID IN GT9 37.0
Is this when the pump is running, if so its ok
HT trfld (coll) in GT10 3.4
HT trfld (coll) out GT11 0.0
    Delta looks okay

    SERVICE MODE:

    2.1 Duration hot water 0h 0h 48h
This is only for if you need extra hot water for high usage, you have to reset it if needed after the time period has elapsed.
    2.3 HW temp - 51
    OK
    7.1 4985
    High again
    7.2 46% DHW 54% RAD
The normal percentage is 80% rad/20% DHW, so this again is out of range.
    7.3 667
Again too high. The one here has only used 30 hrs in 6 odd years

this is most appreciated, thank you.

You appear to have a major problem with the whole installation, apart from the DHW which appears to be correct.
The outside sensor does not show the correct temperature to the pump, so it therefore thinks it does not have any heating need and that is showing on GT1, as I am sure it is not such a high temp outside. it could be a faulty sensor.
Your extra running hours for the immersion on both pumps are far too high, which probably points to them being undersized for the house, as 14Kw to heat 500 sq mtrs with rads is very low.

  • Thanks once again

I know one of the pumps does DHW, the second I have given I think.

Its certainly not 25 degrees outside! Its 3c...

We've never had any issues with DHW.

    Cant access 1.11 - it goes from 1.4 - 1.14

Thank you for all your help, I seem to be getting overwhelming evidence that there are issues that need to be addressed by the installer. I have been in touch with MCS for the basis of complaint. Its one of the biggest suppliers in the UK.

No problem with 1.11, seems like it has been disabled, so thats ok, it could explain as well the operating hours if the outside sensor is faulty. DHW should virtually always be okay as that has priority over heating, although the % is very high.
Have you had any alarms on the panel (K2 menu 11) on either pump?
Set clock and date on K2 menu 10 on each pump?

    Keep me informed!!

  • Checked the alarms...

    First HP:
    ALARM 01/11/12
Delta across the HTF is too high. Possible cause blocked filter HTF pump set too low.

    Second HP:

    ALARM 19/04/12
HIGH PRESSURE SWITCH HAS TRIGGERED POSSIBLE CAUSE THERE IN HEAT CARRIER SYSTEM. FILTER IN HUGE CARRIER SYSTEM IS CLOGGED. MALFUNCTION IN HEAT CARRIER PUMP. TOO LOW FLOW OF HEAT CARRIER.

They are just the normal alarms when the filters start to block up, but reset when the heat delta reduces. Have you cleaned both filters. On the 7 kw units, (E models) there is a internal filter for the heating circuit, plus a external one for the ground loop.

Should have added, scroll down through the alarm settings to see if they often repeat

As you can access the service menu, would you please let me know the immersion heater settings on each pump. The menu is 5.2. Need to know if they are 1/2, 2/2 or 2/3.
    Thanks

    both are at 2/3

Each one is using the 6Kw immersion heater then, so multiply the hours each one is on x 6. That will give you the Kwh's. Wish I was in front of this system as would be easier to work out!!

Correction to an earlier post as hit wrong key. Change the heat level to 6 on both pumps instead of 7. Can you also give me the details as to the heat curve settings on both pumps, the readings should be down to -35C, in 5C reductions.
