It is quite likely he received a grant instead of RHI which is a joke anyway...0

Hi all, I am in the middle of buying a house with GSHP, I never really heard much about them until now.
It has a Thermia Diplomat TWS 6ES fitted if that means anything to anybody out there - I have a good understanding of its principles and basic operation but I would love to know more about the particular model or range.
I was also wondering if the RHI will apply to systems already fitted as this was fitted in 2006 to a home where no mains gas was/is available and a cleaner source of heating wass required by the owner.
Sorry, do not know anything about the make. You do not say if it is UFH or rads.Ask the owner to see his electricity bills for a full year. No idea of RHI as live in Italy!!As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
I live in Spain, have a 3000w Victron solar power system, underfloor heating on a 250 sq mt, reasonable well insulated single floor house. Currently using fuel-oil for heating and DHW. We have a 6inch dry borehole about 100 meters deep (dry well) about 30 meters from the house and am considering the possiblity of using the borehole for a vertical GSHP system;our typical ground water temperature is about 15c/60f...is this a reasonable expectation? Any experience/suggestions/or observations would be very welcome!0

Hi, the GSHP is an IVT Greenline C6, the 6 kilowatt model with integrated water tank.
The total annual GSHP consumption is currently running at below 3,200 kWh and our PV roof generates over 3,300 kWh, despite the northern climate of the UK. So.... this is a good balance.
Since the wall-mounted solar collector was installed, the annual consumption figure is still adjusting, and it may take until next year for it to stabilise. At the moment, every weekly summary shows that it is improving. :j
Hi, I have the same model but our electricity consumption is around 7000KW. We have only had it since April last year. I want to add solar power but have no available cash at present. I have room temp set at 20oC when the house is occupied and around 12 when it is empty. It is a holiday let. We were told we couldn't turn off radiators in the bedrooms as this would upset the system. Is this true? I really need to learn how to analyse the data it produces. And how to use it properly. Are there any online training sessions anywhere?
ETA Ours is a single deep (95m) borehole.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Normaly you would be looking at a 11-14Kw output pump and in that case the borehole may be not deep enough. The ground temps you state, are they summer or winter? As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -

Cut the room temp down to 10C when unoccupied and DHW to minimum. You can close 30% of the circuit down. as long as the rads have bypass valves.
To monitor the system, go into menu K2 (menu 7.1) and record the running hours on a weekly basis.
Make sure you have cleaned the 2 filters, as these can affect performance!!!
Post the figures from menu 3, after the pump has been running. as may be able to see any problem, plus alarm messages from K2 menu.
No online training that I know of!!!As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
Thank you geotherm. I will check with the installer whether we have return valves on the radiators. The hot water temp. never crossed my mind. It just amazes me that the house has constant hot water but of course it isn't required when unoccupied and is costing us.
I can get to the coldside filter but the 'hot' is right on the top towards the back so I have not checked it yet. Maybe another job for the installer. One of todays jobs is to read through the Guide I received with the pump so I have beter knowledge of the K2 menu. Mine is set up on K1 and I have not looked at K2. We have the cottage occupied for 6 weeks from today so if I get a chance on change over days I will record the figures and post on here.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Hi
It autosets on the K1 menu, to access K2, just hold down the heat button for about 10 secs. It will revert to K1 again after a time.
You can also set the hot water on a timer in that menu, and decrease return flow temp on a timer for the rads. Max 4C less!!As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
Thanks Geotherm; as best as I can tell, past about 7 meters deep this temp is year-round. The house in just below 2000 ft up in the mountains, and the soil in pretty rocky/clay based. I was considering running a 1" down and two 3/4" returns in order to make the most of the hole, but my experience is all theoretical, and I know the efficiency of the hole's exchange could be reduced by a three pipe run. We're trying to cut out heating expenses, so I will be looking at a single panel DHW solar system for the summer requirements, which are WAY down from the winter needs. I had expected that a 12Kw HP would be about right for us.....0

I have been in to have a look at the K2 info.
Results are:
heat pump operating no. of hours-1891 h
distribution-255DWH, 75% RAD
Add heat in operation 25h
I checked the elec meter and we have used 6464 units since we put the pump in. We have an electric oven and grill, washing machine and fridge freezer, all A rated and a tumble dryer possibly C rated and use low energy bulbs throughout.
Without a torch yesterday I thought it was 7000 units used so although it is high it is closer to my estimated usage.
I hope you can make sense of this data and advise me on how to use the data properly in future. Thank you.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527
