For those that didn't see this on the Zavvi facebook page from Zavvi themselves; All,
I'm Commercial Director for The Hut Group and have just been made aware of this error and feel obliged to update you.
The customer who received the 'you're a winner' email in error contacted Matt our CEO at 8.30pm today. Matt responded ...within 10 minutes directly, informing him we'll be supplying the prize in full or a cash alternative.
This was an honest mistake made by a member of our team. I will review our competition and facebook processes personally to ensure a mistake like this doesn't happen again.
In the last 12 months we've provided over £10Ks of competition prizes to many happy customers and we are committed to deliver entertainment at the best price to all.
If you have any order/delivery related queries please contact us customerservices@thehutgroup.com or call 0844 264 0702

It's a shame that they originally messed up with the competition, and then further messed up with the way they handled (or didn't handle...) people (not just Gary but others) on Facebook etc. (eventually, basically, telling everyone to shut up) - well done to those that tracked the CEO down and Gary for contacting them, and kudos to the CEO for sorting the issue out within 10 minutes of finding out about it. If I was the CEO I'd also be having some seriously stern words with the underlings and minions that let it get to the stage that a would-be competition winner was having to contact the CEO directly and personally (and only after tracking down the details themselves).
Anyway, congratulations on your competition win Gary, enjoy0 -
Been watching this thread and hoping they would do the right thing, i'm so glad it has come good congratulations Gary enjoy your prize! xx0

I too have been following this thread with interest and I am delighted your prize is being honoured.
It always pays to persevere and if you cannot get any satisfaction from a company, then do what Gary did and go straight to the top. I have done this myself a couple of times with complaints and always got a result.
Big well done to the person (EIGHTOF8) who provided the CEO email address as well. I will maybe try and remember your username should I have another complaint
Enjoy your prize Gary!!The best things in life are free.....0
