  • Every payment made is a payment made.

Get well for the jollybobs and stop beating yourself up. Enough pennies make a pound and all that.

    Very true,

right - as I have the 0% card for 18 months I am going to throw everything at Virgin still.

I have August, Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec pay left for this year. I need to make the following payments respectively 300, 340, 300, 280, 700 to stay on my target.

Then in Jan (if not before) I am hoping to be offered a 0% card and transfer the balance to that. If I am going to clear Virgin by Dec 2012 then I am reliant on a 0% deal.

The target figures aren't just random ones, they are out of my budget and savings so I hope to be able to meet them. Going into 2012 I will have apx 5441 on balance once Dec's payments have cleared and interest added. Assuming I can stick to budget I will make my final payment in October becoming Virgin free (oh er) in Nov.

Once that's gone I will hit the other 0% card assuming I wasn't able to transfer the whole balance when I get my 0% card in Jan. That runs out in March 2013 which is ages away but when you are looking at it by payments made it isn't!

So only 1 CC to tackle after that which the balance should be around 2k in March 2013. I'll wipe that out in a few months if no other CC debts on. July 2013 according to my figures.

The remainder of the year will be spent clearing my 0% loan - last payment in Dec 2013 and then my fixed loan comes to a natural end in Feb 2014 which will be my last ever debt payment!

So I have my mini targets which I will report on monthly for the rest of this year. Debt should be around the 21505 mark down from 30k in Dec 2010.

    Watch this space :)

  • Thats absolutely fantastic work. you should be really proud of yourself.

How do you track your payments? Do you add to a spreadsheet or are you like me with a little printed off spreadsheet covered in post it notes with amounts on which get amended as I make payments?

    Just curious.

I like to look at it and think about it so I like it in the plastic wallet in my bag.

I have everything on a spreadsheet - it's evolved over the year/s so it's pretty much has everything on I need now. It allows me to forecast too and make changes fairly easily. Everything's in one place so makes it easier for me.

I have my lists of to do's on post its literally all over LOL
