  • Hi DF,
Well if it makes you feel any better, I only bought my car in May and so far I have had to pay for a service £80 and a bump that wasn't my fault £200, in Nov my tax is due and it will need 2 tyres and full service!!! Needless to say I have set up a car fund just like SBO.

Aw imagine if you could use Tesco vouchers to get your car fixed? How good would that be if you got triple their value?

M&S two dine in for a tennar is worth every penny...even just for the wine ha ha.

Right, i shall keep my eyes open for the M&S offer - is it on all the time?

My Mum has been for her tests at the end of last week and has a letter full of medical words to tell her what she has, none of which we understand and cannot find on the internet (in plain english anyway). The consultant is going to call her to explain everything (think the letter came quicker than they expected) and so now we have to wait for that.

She is carrying on as normal bless her and is doing really well - she must be worried though. The milder pain is coming on after eating so I am wondering if it's gut related but then why would the ECG results show an abnormality, which they do.

Sorry - needed to vent! We're actually doing well, despite if that reads like we're not :D just wanna know what the hells going on so can get on and manage it.

Things elsewhere are ticking along, my CC came today and as we know the balance was already transferred - it's a platinum card - never had one of those before, i've never been eligible!

Do hope the news from the consultant is good. Why don't they write in plain English? Much easier for everyone.
A platinum card? Is that 'cos you earn £150k then? :rotfl:
M&S offer seems to be on every time I go past but might be worth checking their website to see.

LOL - platinum prob means I have so much on cards already I'm guarenteed to spend on it in their eyes LOL. If only they knew the reformed me, balance transfer only and paying it off every month until it's a mere nothing :)

I can't wait for that final phone call to say close the account as I owe nothing :D

Well my Cap1 balance is zero now (well it's £90 in credit actually buy they're sending it to me as mentioned) and I was in the middle of closing it when I thought - I wonder if they will offer me a 0% balance transfer now I owe them nothing.

So i am going to wait for a month or 2 and see if they offer me something. If not I will close it but if they do it's better as won't be another application.

In the long run I will have every single one closed and I won't be getting credit again. I intend to save for everything including a house extension!

"Next" is next though :) I will be closing that on 25th August. 11 more sleeps :)

So there's my next mini goal - thanks for the idea in a round about way skint LOL

    Hi all

Well I have been to the pharmacy as I am sick of this cold and cackling cough I have. I've had it on and off for months and I can't shift it - I am not ill with it but I am not 100% either. I've been given vit C and zinc and some cough medicine - let's see how I get on.

I woke at 5 with a headache this morning so took tablets immediately as previous experience tells me if I don't it won't go. I was supposed to get up at 6 but it was nearer 7! I refused to rush around and left the house not much later than normal - go figure - and will be going back to a clean and tidy house. Good news is headache had gone when I woke at 7ish.

Having a good start to the day makes it so much better.

I'm living in a building yard at present - we're putting (or DH is) a new bathroom in. Not costing me a penny - how lucky am I - and there's currently a loo and a sink in there! We have use of Mam and Dad's bathroom so it's all good. I can't wait until it's done - my first soak in new bath and I am going to lay and put my debt world to rights with a glass of wine and some candles on. Mmmmm!

So all in all today is a good day - Mam's doing well still and taking each day at a time.

Good news about your mam & hope you feel completely well soon.
A new bathroom - sounds fab. Do enjoy it when it's done :D
