Oh and the reason my diary title wrong now is realistically I won't be totally DF (inc 0%) until 2014.
By then I would love to be able to go on the luxury family holiday so hopefully will be DF in early 2014 so can save to go away in summer 2014
One thing I have learnt is that it all looks great written down on paper but life has a way of changing things! And no matter how realistic you try to be, something pops up and stops it.
So from now, July 2011 through to apx July 2014 I will be on this journey. At least I have my diary!

Good morning diary.
Today is another good day bar a small and annoying headache from this cold but hey ho that will go.
It will be another NSD although I am taking my car in to see what needs doing on it at lunch time and FIL will tell me how much it'll cost so I will have a very big SD coming up soon.but I do need the car in good working order, especially as I use if for my 2 gorgeous kids. Someone offered me a 56 vectra the other day for 2k and everyone was saying why don't you get it. I prefer to have my old banger with problems I know about than buy someone elses problems at this moment in time!
My heart isn't it work this week after working so crazily for the last month or so I think my brain's gone on strike. It's nice and quiet so that helps.
I need to get the baby things listed on gumtree this week too, money towards the holiday if they sell.
Hope everyone having a debt busting day and failing that a NSDDebt - CCV £3792

Thanks beccie!
It feels SO good to be back in the driving seat.
I'm starting to use my diary to keep a list of all my outgoings as I mentioned a few posts back. Today is a NSD also as mentioned however my car hasn't been in yet as FIL was too snowed under at lunch time. Hopefully I should get a "quote" on it today at some point though. Not looking forward to it.
On the weight loss front: I could have murdered a bacon butty this morning but I was good and had porridge before I left then waited until lunch time for my HM wrap. It's the habit that's hard to break.
On the gas and electric front I have my new readings to enter to see if our latest efforts have reduced our consumption any. The prices change are imminent so in order to keep the payments the same we need to use less and the idea is to reduce them in the end.

Morning diary
I put my electricity and gas readings in online again and we're using the least amount we have so far this year but that's to be expected as it's (supposed to be) summer.
Compared to last year the gas usage is right down but I was on maternity leave this time last year so maybe not a true comparison. The electricity is low but did peak a bit over the last couple of weeks which is when I used the dryer alot whilst I was so busy.
Yesterday I came into some luck - i was looking at the energy monitors but the energy company wanted over £30 for one so no chance. Anyway - Mam had a spare one! I didn't even think of asking her, it's not something you tend to have spare lol.
So I plugged that in last night and was amazed at the results. The hot water which I thought was gas fuel'd charges a fortune! The TV is just ridiculous and the kitchen lights are too! A real eye opener.
I managed to do a freezer inventory which needs typing up still and then I can menu plan from it.
Also need to plan something for tea tonight.
Off to check my accounts.

PS It's reading sub 7k now which is fantastic!!!! Although once they add the interest on it may border 7 again so aim is to ensure it is still sub 7 once interest added.

We have an energy monitor too but haven't used it yet - really should as it sounds interesting what is costing you the most!Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0

I thought the tv was going to be fairly cheap compared to say the dryer - OMG it is the 2nd most expensive thing - yes the dryer is more but it's up there on the OMG list. Also kitchen lights were a shocker. My family were laughing at me running round switching things off to see how much it changed.
Microwave too was shocking.

Hi DF!
Thought I'd come and say hi and see how you're approaching things - try to get some inspiration if you don't mind?!
We got one of those energy monitor thingys free when we switched energy provider - must dig it out and actually use it, especially with energy prices going up soon!
