That's terrible Kat that they just kept giving you stuff you didn't even ask for! My issue was the huge credit limits given to me, on a small salary - highly irresponsible I think!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

That's an interesting one - is there one thing if you could tell your old self now would it have stopped you?
Not sure if it would have with me to be honest, although perhaps the thought of so many hours now would have done...Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -

It's a hard one as I have the benefit of hindsight now! At the time I always told myself it doesn't matter, I will pay it back one day, without even considering the future or wasted interest etc etc.
Your right about it affecting your personal life though, I would ideally want to be debt free before having children and getting married, and I'm not getting any younger. I will be 31 in July and don't want to delay these things for years just because I was stupid enough to run up £18.5k's worth of debtLBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

For me I wish i'd told ppl and been honest as wouldn't bw where i am today if that was so.
In another respect I wouldn't have the appreciation for things that I now do if it wasn't for this journey.Debt - CCV £3792
CCB £1383 (took a hit for a holiday)

It does affect your personal life - for me, as no one knows about it, I couldn't stop the natural progression of life - we have 2 gorgeous kids but I was in debt on maternity leave and no one knew - my stress levels have been up and down for years due to it. I am surprsied my blood pressure wasn't high lol.
Now that I am managing it I feel better but if I had known what i was doing to myself for the future, I hope I would be able to have stopped it.
I know one thing, never again for me and my kids will learn the value of money too.

At least you have learnt a valuable lesson and can guide your children away from making the same mistakes as a result of going through it yourself xLBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Hey Df,
How are you getting on? I'm finally back after a month or so !! My laptop blew up on me and we werent allowed to use the internet at work so I've had a tough time having to sneak on here and there etc but I managed to get myself a new laptop today.
You have been doing brilliantly. Just been reading through your diary, thats crappy about the min payments being hiked up although as you said it means the balance comes down quicker. How was your holiday?
I was also reading about the fridge at your work that is terrible! but the tea/coffee is even worse!!
Catch up soon
Take care x xLBM - JUNE 2010 - [STRIKE]£27,108[/STRIKE] £23,682 (as at 1st Apr 11)
