We've just been told we're definitely moving offices but it won't be for up to 1 year. They are taking kitchen facilities off us such as fridge and hot water for coffee/tea and replacing it with expensive cafe thing. I bring my lunch in every day and use the fridge we have for salads and stuff but won't be able to once we move. I am not too bothered but it got me thinking - what do you all do for lunch when you're at work/out for the day? Do you take packed lunch in and if so do you keep in a fridge or just on desk etc ?

If I take lunch in I would always put it in the fridge. Surely they have to provide one? They have to provide free water at least, however, I think it's best practice to have a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities.

I think that is rubbish DF, how can they not even provide the basics such as tea and coffee and a fridge!

I always go home for lunch, although lately I have been going to my Mum's as I get fed for free then :)

Free lunch from Mum's is always great woo! It's a long way off for me but of course I love to plan!
I spoke up in the comms meeting and said surely fridges and a boiler need to be provided but they said they want to avoid that image! So i thought well you will have to put up with people being off with food poisoning from the lunches that've gone off!

i'd love to go home for lunch daily but trying to save petrol with it being so high - some days I do nursery run but my daughter is starting school in Sept so won't have to do it from then, well from July when the 6 weeks start. Maybe when I don't have to do that anymore I will pop home twice a week or something.

I think that's awful! Aquire a lurid cool bag/box - preferably in highlighter style colours and a thermos. Keep these on your desk at all times, see if they prefer that "image".

I take my lunch in and keep it in the fridge - but we only have a fridge in our office because we bought it ourselves!

    Morning All

How sad is this: Tomorrow night DH is off out for a few hours and I am planning to get a bottle of wine and sit and plan out next month's meals and cost them too to come in under my £125 budget! I can't wait to do it - someone slap me!!!! LOL.

But firstly my daughter and I are going to put the baby to bed then have HM pizza and popcorn night whilst watching Tangled. The stuff you pop at home. That will be the best part of the night :)

Once she is in bed I'll quickly iron, yuk, then do the menu plan :)

Also, does anyone have any ideas how I can reduce my gas and electric bill? I am paying off the balance on it which is why it's high but the consuption is high too. We've done the usual - lights, cook in smaller over rather than heat big one, not use tumbler, heating's off etc.

The menu plan and the fuel consumption are my challenges for the next month. MSD go without saying :)

£1.88 sent to Virgin (they are the once who've done the payment hike - just as well I'd decided to go for paying them first really isn't it lol).

I pay over £100 every month which barely covered the interest. Sickening or what, hence the very little cleared from it in sig - actually have paid hundreds to reduce measely £8! So at least with payment hikes but interest the same ish I will see a difference in a few months.
