Bet you can't wait to close Cap one. As much as I'm glad I don't have CCs in a way I do wish the debt I have was on them as at least you can see the figures go down. Good idea about the one night out a month. Definitely need to keep enjoying ourselves on the debtbusting mission if not we'd be miserable! As you say it doesnt have to be an expensive night :T
I'm planning the cinema tonight to see the Kings speech hence I am trying to talk myself into saying it is a good idea to get out :rotfl:
Not so good about the petrol, hope you get home okay. I was reading about ways to save on fuel, i.e getting rid off stuff, ~(extra weight), in the car, staying to within the recommended revs, trying not to brake heavy (so you dont accelerate so quick) etc etc. I am going to try this out for a month to see how much it saves.
Am tempted to take all the seats out my car apart from mine but don't think that would be a good idea :rotfl:LBM - JUNE 2010 - [STRIKE]£27,108[/STRIKE] £23,682 (as at 1st Apr 11)

Lol - loving the petrol saving ideas!!!! I will give it a whirl myself in the hope it'll work. I don't really have anything to compare the results against though as I have only been doing my new routine since Jan 4th! Hmm.....anything's worth a try though....!
Aw Kat - I think whatever situation we're in, be it loans or CC payment type - we all aren't sure if the other would be easier but one thing is for sure - we all have the same goal and by god we'll get there.
I just phoned Cap1 and the bleeding phone in the meeting room doesn't work!!!!
Will try again somehow later today if poss otherwise it'll have to be monday unless i get time alone over w/e which is like never!

Effing Cap1 are shocking!!!! Every time I ring the transfer me automatically to collections department who read of the same stupid script before you can get a word in edgeways then you tell them to check their notes and they say oh right i see now and finally i ask to close the account. They say ok how are you paying your balance off - I had already said set account to close on clearing of balance in a year or so, but automatically set it up to close - do they not listen!!!!!!
Anyway - tried 3 times and same result - they say they don't do it. Fuming with them - they put me through to someone else who didn't answer and I decided I will take great pleasure in calling them up and closing the account when it's clear - I CAN'T WAIT!
Talk about insipration ! Lol

Did you ask to speak to a supervisor. I thought closing the account was something that all credit cards do. As in you can't spend anymore and your credit limit come down as you pay it off, and they can't put your interest rate up anymore.
Why don't you try again on mon, and see if you can talk to someone who knows what they're talking about. I did that with my (now gone) natwest cc last month. I whinged and moaned enough, and eventually got them to refund me £10 in telephone costs. I didn't get the original problem sorted, but at least in the end I felt they were listening.
You've just got to tell them you want to talk to the organ grinder, and not the monkey :rotfl:LBM Dec 10. Total unsecured debt £41176  Nov 12 Debt Free Thanks Mum x RIP x

That's rubbish! Companies are making it harder and harder to pay stuff off! Does that mean your card will increase with interest hikes? I'm POSITIVE you can reject the hikes if you're not going to spend any more on them xxLoan - [STRIKE]£6991.95[/STRIKE]£6180.01; Barclays Res - [STRIKE]£600[/STRIKE] £0 - £22 per week , NWB Grad O/D - [STRIKE]£1185[/STRIKE] £887.86 18.28% SWALEC - [STRIKE]£700[/STRIKE] £0 NPOWER [STRIKE]£220[/STRIKE] £0 Kays - [STRIKE]£591.28[/STRIKE] £0 TOTAL DEBT - [STRIKE]£10,288.23[/STRIKE] £7,000.01 31.96 % Paid off. Hi All
It's PAY DAY!!!!! YEY. I have a few "other" updates to post but important things first - becoming DF!
Ok so here goes....Today I have paid....
131.58 to Cap1 (34.56 off total debt as 97.02 interest
55 to Tesco (21.78 off total debt as 33.22 interest)
112.72 to Virgin (17 off total debt as 95.72 interest)
167.63 (fixed) to loan 82.60 off total debt as 85.03 interest)
466.93 paid out - 155.94 actually reduced debt by:eek: - sickening!!!! But only month one.
I also had other owings to pay from end of last year totalling 256 and have cleared those at least.
Also bills comes to ~960 for the month including
Gas Elec joint £ 136.00 (paying balance outstanding still)
Car Ins £ 41.10 (this went up on returning to work, need to shop about)
TV £ 12.12
C Tax £ 180.00
Water £ 29.00
Phone etc £ 70.80 (higher this motnh as had extras installed which hubby paying for in future)
Mortgage extra £ 250.00
Hair £ 40.00
Food £ 100.00
Petrol £ 100.00
Bank Charges £ 20.00
In intend to post monthly all of my outgoings, not just debt so I can keep an eye on things although I am on my spreadsheet daily lol.
The petrol and groceries are wait and see this month and the bank charges are going to be £10 next month then 0 after that.
The only thing I do for myself is my hair and that's not a compromise for me. I don't buy any clothes now unless they are falling off my back and have £20 pocket money a month which I don't want to spend as want to pay to debt but I know I have it there to enjoy 1 night out a month with hubby. Hopefully I will get some change from it ;o).
I am aiming on reducing gas and electric along with car insurance although it seems every company has shot up their prices!
Off to update sig - very sorroful amount to update but it is only month 1.
xx
