MissGG - isn't it beautiful! I was just thinking the other day how no one I have seen around has this dress and now we both (hopefully) have. I LOVE it!

Pern I do think that is a bit rude and from reading that may have even done the same as you if we lived so far away without realising xx

thanks everyone. going to see the venue in about 10 mins. to be fair to them, its not their fault, they had a dodgy manager before and he took a booking, took the deposit and didnt enter in the system and did a runner!1

Will let you know how we get on.

Now that is much clearer, no misunderstandings from that & it is still very polite! I never realised the wording on the invitation could be so important, will definitely have to take a lot of time over ours I think.

Thank you, so glad I am not the only one to have read it that way! I understand if they couldn't have afforded us at the main meal but just wish she'd made it clearer so we could have avoided that moment, I feel like we were the blip in their day as I know I wouldn't want to have that conversation as the bride!

Hope you get your venue sorted out BLUis - that's terrible news.

Pern, I'd have read the invite the same way and I applaud you for keeping your cool. I'd probably have walked out and not gone back in again.
Did anyone else have the same situation or was it just you and OH? There are friends of our parents that they'd like to have at the ceremony but we can't afford to have them for the sit-down meal (and don't really know them that well anyway) so they're invited to the evening do and we've verbally told when the ceremony is in case they want to pop along.

Well we've got another date, just need to find out know if the registrar is free! We've actually got 2 dates, neither of them in June, so if we can have them, I will have to move to another board - again!!!

They have given us 5 or 6 May, so it will be even LESS time to get it all sorted!!!

I will be onto the registrar as soon as they open at 8am. Hopefully either date will be available, or I really dont know what the F*** I am going to do!!

Had a horrible wedding dream last night - my dress was only down to my waist, my shoes were black and my flowers were red. OH saw me before I walked down the aisle and there were only 5 people there! Very weird!

Just to let everyone know that I have now RE, RE booked my wedding!!! It is now on 6th May (which is a Sunday, but with a BH Monday!)

I was onto the registrar at just after 8am, they couldnt have been more helpful.

Just got to let everyone know now!!! - AGAIN!!! lol

I'm just relieved its all sorted.

So, I will be defecting from the June 2012 thread, to the May 2012 thread! At this rate, I will be getting married last week.

I think if anything else goes wrong with a venue, we are going to get on a plane and pi55 off abroad. I cant cope with the stress!!

On a good note, because of all the c0ck ups, we now have the Bridal suite for 2 nights, free and have changed their package menu to suit us, free! So all in all a bonus.
