Hi all,
I think I have found my wedding dress, hopfully going back on Saturday to try it on again.
And I also have my bridemaids sorted although need to get sizes correct and they will all need adjusting as they want straps.
I finally feel as though I am now getting somewhere.Engaged 31/12/2010 Getting married on 22/06/20120 -

i think the next things i need to sort out are insurance and also sort out invitations and save date cards. i would like to make invitations myself, can anyone give good tips of where to get card from for a good price, need quite a lot as having quite a large wedding.Married on 16th June 2012. :j0 -
Hi everyone,
I am also a "June 2nd Bride to Be". Looks like a popular day!
I got engaged on Valentines this year after 9 years and 3 sons with my other half.......................
Pretty well planned so far I think. Trying to have a really different and special day on a budget.
Dress sorted - bought from Ebay and altered by local dressmaker - total £150.
Shoes from Ebay - £4
Registry office booked - £400 - We wanted the larger room as it had an aisle and we have quite a lot of guests.
Local hall booked for reception - £300
Decorations all from Ebay - about £25 and arty farty mate to decorate for free.
Cake topper and cake decorations from Ebay - About £20, will decorate plain cakes myself.
Ladies favours, bag charms made by my mum using beads and charms from local car boot sale.
Mum is also making my jewellery, hairpin and bits for my bridesmaids and flowergirls.
Our 3 sons ties, hankies, cufflinks and sundries from Ebay - £30
Mobile hairdresser to do hair - £30
Bouquet and bridesmaids flowers and flowergirl baskets from Ebay - £25
Car arranged by a mate who knows someone with a flash Merc.
Mum is doing all the catering for 150 people too, roped in a few mates to help - hopefully £500 will cover it.
Loads of odds and sods from the local poundshop including plastic glasses, cutlery, serving plates, bubbles, rose petals
Drink is the biggy, possibly a booze run to France. Also gonna keep an eye in supermarkets for good deals. Hope to get the lot for less than £800 (Hubby insists we need to pay for drinks!)
Still quite a bit to plan but can't do kids suits as the wedding is a year away.
Invitations, will probably make my own.
Hubby wants a nice new suit as his is over 10 years old, lol.
It's so exciting!!!

That's good news! Where are your dresses from? What is yours like x
My bridesmaid dresses are from Very.co.uk and only £45. My wedding dress is from a shop that only sell old sample gowns, so I would need to get it dry cleaned.
I also know someone who used to be a dressmaker and has said she will make all the adjustments for me at no cost.
Hope all your plans are going well.Engaged 31/12/2010 Getting married on 22/06/20120 -

Had a really productive few days here - we have found someone else to make our cake (much nicer than the last one!) and my OH is getting our favour boxes made for free!! YAY!
Ooh how are you managing that? Congrats on the cake though, glad you sorted it outPicklePickle wrote: »Been doing a few bits and piece of wedding planning this week, we've started looking at honeymoon destination, we really like the idea of Cuba but apparently June is the start of the hurricane season in the caribbean  where is everyone else thinking of going?
Also been trying to find a band for the evening, we're really not keen on having a disco. We've found a group we really like, got really good reviews and they're free on the day at the moment...only thing is is that they're £1,500! Is that an extortionate amount to pay for the evening entertainment though??!
We want to go to Hawaii but don't think we will be able to due to cost, so maybe Egypt...all I know is I want somewhere with with a nice beach so we can just chill out for a couple of days & then we want to go off & see the sights etc. Any ideas?
I'm shocked at the prices of bands too, is there a pub or anywhere that regularly lets local bands play? You might be able to get a good up & coming band there, quite often they are just happy to play & get a bit of advertising rather then demanding about mega bucks. That's where we are going to look anyway once OH asks his friend's band if they're interested in playing.I've tried on 100s of dresses since feburary2010:o haha, but keep going back to the hollywood dreams, they are amazing but one inparticular!!
and ive now cut back on my original cost of £1500 for horses and carriage, so its coverering a little bit more towards the dress hehe:T
Ive just taken out wedding insurance and booked the horses and carriage :jso 2 less things to worry about.
ive just been told that ive got to leave the wedding plans for today as i did promise i would, so we could go out for my bday :bdaycake: not going to help with the weight loss!!!
Do you have a piccy of the dress? If you keep going back to it & have tried hundreds of others on & don't get that feeling I would say buy it, but juggle your budget so you can afford it without having to cut back too much on something else!
Oh I wish we were having a horse & carriage, I picked a venue about a 30mins drive away though so no chance of that even if I could afford it! Very romantic though:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57
