Evening diary
Im so tired tonight but have bad heartburn so know i wont get to sleep again for ages!! Ohwell so thought i would update before going to try and sleep
Joys of being preggers hey
Got the matresseManaged to get it for £65 in the end!!!
It normally sells for £160  So got it at a good price so im happy lol. Had some vouchers so managed to use those to help a little aswell.
Also got the steraliser and bottles (I know its best to breastfeed and saves money but I dont hold much hope on it as it normally goes all wrong at some point and I end up combined feeding then formular feeding) and bath - bottles and steraliser were reduced aswell
Bet the lady moaned about me as made her put my things through in two parts so i made the most of the vouchers lol.
When at the shops we looked at the pushchair I wanted and its sooooo flimsySo now rethinking it as I want it to last us - the one we liked in the shop was a extra £100 though
but ive hunted on the net and can get it for lower (£80 lower then in the shop!!) So am having a think about it and seeing what will do as its still £160 to spend... My mum has asked what we want for baby so might just say to put some money towards it??
Today we have been out for dinner with my dad so had a lovely meal out and only had to buy a beer for DH and Dad so was a nice cheap afternoon out :jGC: Nov: £60.22/£450 Oct: £338.48/£450, July: £363.05/£450, June £447.98/£500£2 savers No68: £104/£100 :j:jmummy to: 8yr, 5yr, 3yr, 2yr, 1yr. Good on you for doing the shopping in two parts, sod the lady on the till - get the most out of your vouchers i say!!!
I bottle fed my first, didn't even attempt to breast feed. This time i thought about breast feeding but i have bought the bottles and steriliser as i would prefer to bottle feed for many reasons, i may bf for the first couple of days - i have no idea but we'll see.0 -
HI mummy well done on getting all the bits you needed, think your right with the bottles, i remember how much breast feeding takes it out of you and you have lots on, i was ok with my DD but with DS he was feeding every 2 hours and as DD was only 14 months i just couldn't do it, so only lasted 5 days with him, i always say i tried but it wasn't for me and a baby needs a happy mummy thats not dropping on her feet.
Regarding the pushchair if the other one was too flimsy and is going to be falling apart in no time then its false economy cos your going to have to then buy another one and probably end up paying out more, so i say go for the one you want:D.0 -
Morning
I will give the BF a go and even if I just manage it while DH is home baby is getting a good start and will see how it goes.....I have beat myself up so much in the past when ive not been able to do itSo this time I will try not to get upset when it doesnt work but its hard when everyone is telling how its the best for baby etc....when really I know its much better to have a happy and healthy mummy aswell as baby
So will see how it goes....
Penny I think I would end up getting a new one - maybe not for a while till DS was walking and only had this baby is a pushchair so it would prob end up costing more. The single I like is the same as my double and the double is still as when we brought it over a yr ago so im sure it would last...... Just will look funny when we have them both and have a big one and the small one lol
Today I really should go to the shops but might go when kids in bed tonight to save dragging them around as not sure I can face it lol. Will do meal plan and list today before going later
Also need to do more sorting out - the nesting is kicking in big time lol. I keep going through different cupboards throwing things outWhich is good as we have soooo much stuff anything I get rid off will help space wise.
Washing is on the line dryingLove being able to put it outside. Nappies are in washing so I hope I will be able to get them on the line later aswell
Off for a cup of tea and then ill have a little catch up while dd is happyGC: Nov: £60.22/£450 Oct: £338.48/£450, July: £363.05/£450, June £447.98/£500£2 savers No68: £104/£100 :j:jmummy to: 8yr, 5yr, 3yr, 2yr, 1yr. No6 Due Mar 2013 My world.:j0 -
Well done on your shopping trip.
Definately don't beat yourself up about BF, I think after the brood you have had you know your body by now!!! I know everybody says BF is best but I dont actually know anybody who has successfully managed for more than about a month so I think its not uncommon to struggle.Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T
2020 the year of less - Less debt, less waste, less spending, less stuff, less stress!0 -
Evening mummy, how are you and how long have you got left now?
Re the bf my milk suddenly dried up at 4 weeks with DD1, thing was I was trying to be supermum and doing everything and apparently according to my HV at the time your body does that and its your bodies way of saying slow down. However with 4 other children slowing down isnt always an option is it! I really did beat myself up over it and felt guilty giving my DD formula. God you would have thought I was poisoning her with the stuff the way I went on.
The thing is yes im sure breast is best but you also need to think about the wider family and how they are all affected if you are stressed over it and what not. Anyway, so im trying to say in a long winded way dont beat yourself up if it doesnt work out.
Hope your ok anyway and looking forward to reading your birth announcement x xMummytogirls x0 -
Oppp's I havent been on here for a longggg time
and its not because baby has decided to turn up early!! Just because ive been tired - this cooking babies is hard work
.
Not alot DFW going on - just the normal of trying to keep to a budget and making sure everything gets paid!! I have got most things for baby now - apart from I cant find my breast pump anywhere!!!! Typical so I might have to buy a manual one so ive atleast got the manual (did have electric....)
Havent got a single buggy yet as still cant decide? Cheap and chearfull or one that will last for when this baby will need single on its own?? Also need a buggy board!!! So still got bits I need to buy but also need to save as much money as possible as I think we will have enough to cover the paternity leave but also got the holiday in June that will need spending money for!!!!!Always something.............
Its the holidays at the moe and the kids are loving the warm weather and being able to play outdoors all the time!! Today is a bit yucky but its still dry so they can play out in the garden
Well better go and sort the kiddies before they go mad lol and I WILL update earlier then ive left it this time.......
Im 38+2 now so not long till baby is dueGC: Nov: £60.22/£450 Oct: £338.48/£450, July: £363.05/£450, June £447.98/£500£2 savers No68: £104/£100 :j:jmummy to: 8yr, 5yr, 3yr, 2yr, 1yr. No6 Due Mar 2013 My world.:j0 -
Just wondered if anybody had any advice for me? DHs bosses are being a pain at the mo and keep going on about how they have to look at figures and see if they can afford all there employee's.....they have also hinted (and not denied when dH asked them) That he will be the first to go as he costs them the most - high wage and also cost in diesel is the most........ So aslong as he hasnt done anything to be 'sacked' Would they have to make him redundant?? And would they have to give him some redundence money???
I really hope they are just putting the pressure on - as they often say things like they are struggerling etc and you never know whent hey really ae or not........
Just want to work out what we will do if he does lose his job - will be !!!!!!ed but trying to see how bad it will be and if he will get a little bit which might help us for a mth or two....... He has worked for them for about 11 years if that makes a difference???????GC: Nov: £60.22/£450 Oct: £338.48/£450, July: £363.05/£450, June £447.98/£500£2 savers No68: £104/£100 :j:jmummy to: 8yr, 5yr, 3yr, 2yr, 1yr. Hi Mummy - I bet your are shattered. With regards to hubby as far as I know they can make him redundant and in which case he would recieve something like 1 months salary for each year he has worked so 11yrsx £ (monthly salary) unless his contract says otherwise - may be worth checking? We have been in a similar situation on the job threat front and DH has has his hours cut by 8 per week meaning we are losing £300 per month eek. So I know how stressful it is and how worrying. Maybe get him to have a word with his boss? Having said all that try not too let it get to you are you need to rest and take it easy especially with little one due - sending hugs x:jNov 2012 - Loan £1200, CC1 £1450
CC2 £1300, CC3 £100
Next £200
I will get rid!!!!

Thanks Pinky. He has lost his original copy of his contract and he has asked a good few time recently for a copy of his contract. Might get him to ask again for a copy of the one he signed (was many moons ago so who know where its gone!!!) But who knows if they will actually give it to him (or TBH if he EVEN signed one!!!!! I Hope he did but it was in 2001 he was employed so im not sure if he would have done!!!!!!!!!! ARRRRR) I just had a look on direct gov and it had how to work it out on there and says its none taxable - so if he was made redundant then he should get what he normally gets for 2.5 mths - so atleast that would give us a little bit of time to find a new job/cover a little while if he gets paid less in a new job......not great but would help
Im not going to worry tooo much as they tend to say things like that they are strugling allllll the time etc and its often just a way to try and get people to work better/harder and longer hrs etc....so fingers crossed its just a case of that............
Hope your OK PinkyGC: Nov: £60.22/£450 Oct: £338.48/£450, July: £363.05/£450, June £447.98/£500£2 savers No68: £104/£100 :j:jmummy to: 8yr, 5yr, 3yr, 2yr, 1yr. No6 Due Mar 2013 My world.:j0
