Ive looked on their web site, and I cant find anything that comes with a wireless remote. Which model does it say on the invoice,is it Nimbus, virgo, neptune, cantabury, Savoy, something else? Which matress is stated on the invoice, as that cn affect the price too. Then we should be able to tell from the prices online if it should have come with extras.

People here will try to help, but you will get more help if you explain what exactly is on the invoice, I know you are saying the salesman said it would have this and that, but thats his word against yours, and will not get you a refund. Hard facts may well help, and that depends whats on your invoice, so it would help you if you explain whats on the invoice.

Just found a taurus and a neptune, they should come with a massage unit, but still looks like a wired handsets. Whats the name of the bed on the invoice?

Googling 'Dreams beds' comes up with all sorts of customer service problems, sounds like calling SC is a waste of time. So the first thing to do is make sure you get your facts right, get evidence, keep copies of everything, and then persue this on behalf of your mum. Its probably best to get trading standards involved, im sure they will also ask for details on the invoice too. Misleading as the salesman may have been, its just anecdotal, and will not get you a refund alone. They are likely to advise you on how to persue, will probably send you a letter template, or at least advise you to quote a relivent piece of legislation when writing to Dreams.

this it just states the name of the bed!

...so what is the name of the bed on the invoice?

What was the name of the bed that the salesman was demonstrating to your mum? Was there a display card near the bed with options and prices? The words 'basic model' and 'delux model' are not specific to a particular bed.

I think what bowdengr said is a very good idea, go into another branch, verbally tell them name of the bed on your invoice, see how much they say it is, and what it comes with.

I would personally go one step further, get a friend to go into the actual york branch, they could say they are shopping on behalf of an elderly relative who cannot travel to the shop, they could ask for details, brocure and a written quote for a single adjustable bed, with wireless remote and massage unit. You will get a written price, with features and product name. That may help!

Dreams no longer sell this bed and this is why we are having trouble proving this. The invoice states Tarragon plus.

Googled Tarragon adjustable bed and all the links state that it is just and adjustable bed. There is no Tarragon Plus anywhere. 'Plus' kind of indicates that it included something else.

Thats interesting, as the link gives a price of £549, the op states they paid double that, so either they have been sent the wrong bed, OR they happened to buy the bed during a none 50% promotional period!

OP, when was the bed ordered, if they now dont sell it any more? Has this dispute been ongoing for sometime?

certainly if you can show that the bed you have is just a tarragon, and the invoice states tarragon plus, then there maybe some evidence to persue. We need an old flyer or brochure with some detail, have you got any other paperwork from the purchase?

If you google dreams tarragon bed you come across a few cached links that show the price as being £549. Also, the OP said his mother got a VAT discount so the bed was more likely priced at around £1300.

Might be worth doing a screanshot of the cashed link that blue monkey found. At least its showing the model and the price at that time, maybe a plan B would be for you to ask for a refund between the two prices, then use that money to buy the massage unit? (clutching at straws here!) but then you still dont have the wireless control.

So OP, what exactly does the invoice say, just the words 'tarragon plus' ? anything else, any code or anything that may help us help you? Do you have an old brochure from when you ordered, or any other paperwork which may have more details?

We've tried to get a brochure but apparently they are all sent back to HO, we have no other information about the order.

We only ordered this bed at the end of October 2010 and it was delivered on the 24th Nov 2010. But when we ordered there was no mention that they were discontinuing the bed.
