Pippi, temporary richness makes me smile too so thank YOU. Not sure yet what to do about the hunt but will definitely be doing it I think. I have expanded the idea to a car type treasure hunt. So I could drive to several spots and plant a clue which will lead us to the flat and then I could maybe have his pressies there and I might make a really nice meal. We could have a night in but at the flat (which is lovely and still not sold :()

Love the lightbulb moment too, Cheri - you're really onto something there. Before you invest too much money, tho, check out Austrian regulations - there's a massive Anglo community in Spain, for instance, and I've known of several counsellors who've also emigrated out there, but the red tape is absolutely horrendous, and its been a year or so till they've been able to open a practice.

Thanks KC, I am onto that one. Researching as I type. Have spent the morning on linkedin and just seen a very interesting opportunity. Having cold feet about it as not sure that I am "quite" right for it though.Might need to add it to my 30 day challenges towards the big move.

  • I'm finally getting round to de-lurking so popping in to say hi.

sounds like the recent opportunity deserves maximum exploration at the very least :D

I read a fab book while I was on holiday about following what's in your heart and how much easier things feel when you are on that path. It talked a lot about how when you are on the path, lots of things happen/fall into place almost with a sense of magic and your journey becomes easier. I can definitely relate to this (although am not entirely on that path just yet) and thought of it when you posted about your stranger on the train :)

Belated congratulations on the Austrian purchase and good luck with your adventure! And love to Moo xx

Interesting opportunities should be investigated further, you never know where they might lead :D

    Socks are on Maty.

Just back from the prom where I was listening to the Proms, Mahlers 9th.whilst sitting on the beach and watching the surf crash and the sun slowly creeping across the horizon. I think it was a rather reluctant sunset this evening. The colours were stunning. Navy blues fading to pale lilacs in the sky and aqua marine sea. How could I not feel completely at ease with the world after that experience?

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: to me singing. Not only did Mr Watson tell me I couldnt play the triangle, he threw me out and banned me from the choir.

:rotfl: I thought I was the only one ever to be banned from choir! In primary school.

My friend's wonder why I point blank refuse to sing kareoke (my name came out the hat at a friend's hen party and I just stood there, mic in one hand, drink in the other, with a very petted lip!) I only ever sing in the car. When the window's are firmly rolled up!

How's your drawing? Mine's awful (despite extra art and no choir :rotfl:), but I reckon an artist will be able to draw me exactly what I want for my wall between our descriptions of the sea and the sun :D.

Kindred spirits - I knew that I was drawn to your diary for a reason!

My drawing is worse than my singing. I really dont get it at all. My Nan was a jazz singer in clubs (I listened to her for hours). I asked her if, when she died, she could leave me her voice - it didnt happen. And ALL I mean ALL of my family are good artists. I think that my creative talents definitely lie in dance and writing when I put my mind and energy into them. I have photos on my blog of the sunset if you are at all interested Nic. Not great as I currently have no memory card for my best camera and making do with a little snappy fuji.
