Lovely quote cheri, and you dump away, sounds like you need to!

You absolutely should *not* worry about being a fraud! You *do* talk about money on here, perhaps not in terms of exact figures and 'I saved this much today', but certainly in terms of bigger choices that you've made so you can go to Austria etc. And anyway, this is all about general support too, and you're planning out your life to avoid debt, so you absolutely do belong here and shouldn't feel like a fraud!

(sorry, brain dump from me too, but I think you get the message :D)

  • Well written Cheery. the bigger picture is all still about money.

That quote is so apt, and it could have been any dog but to be a Dane was just meant to be.

hose who start with too litte money are more likely to succeed than those who start with too much.Energy and imagination are the springboards to wealth creation.

Thanks ME, yes my friend said that it was meant for me that picture and had to buy it.

So today I have sorted out an issue that has been annoying me for so long. I have been trying to register my gas meter since I got the flat. Every company I approached said that I had no meter. Luckily I have kept readings from the "non existent" meter so I know that any bills will not be too high when it is finally sorted. Ended up phoning the people who installed the meter who say it is not on their database but gave me another number to ring. They have told me to look for something on the meter and if it isnt there to just ring any company and ask them to register with a point of reference. I will do this tomorrow.
Struggling with a few other silly things but getting there slowly.
Moneywise I am doing ok . Payday a week on Friday, hoping that the visitors buy some food for themselves as they are staying in the flat!

  • Lock them in the flat and tell them they have to do an online order or you wont let them out :D

Or just wait til they send you a bill, and send them back their previous letter telling them you have no meter :D (suppose that won't work though, as presumably they know you have a gas supply!) Well done for persisting! :T :T

(see, there, you talked about money there :D)
  • If this has happened with yours I wonder how many others in the block aren't paying for gas either and are just ignoring it .

Expect nothing. Live frugally on surprise. ~Alice Walker

Lovely day here. Pity I have to spend it cleaning the house in anticipation of the arrival of the parents. Mr C Junior cant come so one less to worry about there.

I am still obsessing about the garden! I really need to get us both out there and get digging. Mr C is a thinker and trying to get him to start any job is very difficult. I think that the garden overwhelms him so instead we have a jungle. Hmmm need to think about this one. Wouldnt get anything done this weekend anyway but I really want to be able to sit out there this summer if I can. Maybe I need to take a leaf out of Cheery's book and just get out there myself and he might follow suit.

Right I had a little read of my old diary at 3am this morning and was rather surprised by how upbeat it was in the beginning. And how many quotes there were over there so my little motivational daily quotes really need to come back. I will also have a read back every now and then because it was moving along really well in the beginning.
"It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily. "So it is." "And freezing." "Is it?" "Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately." ~A.A. Milne

  • great quote cherisong! I read a book recently - Pooh bear's guide to life or What Would Pooh Do or something, can't remember the exact title.

But it was excellent and full of Hundred-Acre Wood derived wisdom :) (am posting under another username these days but am a long term lurker and supporter with a large dog although not a Dane!)

my garden is similarly massive and I am similarly prone to thinking about things rather than doing, although I am better lately. For me, flylady's just do 15 minutes mantra has been a revelation. Before long a decent amount of time has passed, and even in my garden, just an hour of jungle clearance makes a massive difference :)

At least Mr C junior not coming should lighten the load on you both a little (and hopefully reduce the inevitable food bill!)

C, I love your diary and your positivity, hope you don't mind me contributing some quotes? Satchmo x
