Hope Mr C's interview goes well.
My OH dreaded the idea of carboots, but really enjoyed it in the end. The bacon butty stall did help thoughSome stuff I worked out what it would fetch approx on Ebay, and took to the carboots as I knew how much a minimum offer I'd accept would be, and it would be less trouble than listing them. A lot of the buyers do know what collectables are worth, so it's better for them too as they can see before buying so less risky than Ebay for them too.

Ah, thanks all. Mr C's interview is in town here so I really hope that he gets it. It wont pay as much as contracting but he will have a work life balance and be at home. Yep, you are right re him going back home all the time. They forget his age and treat him like a teenager. Plus his dad is a control freak.

Well Mr C got the job. It turned out to be quite different to what was advertised. Much better for him. Ends up being much more like a contractor. Think they didnt know what they really wanted until he turned up for the interview. All seem to be very happy with arrangements so he starts tomorrow. He can negotiate his hours as he goes along. Work from home, go to the office etc etc. Lucky him.
Acting like a swan is catching up with me. All that sereness on top and paddling underneath is catching up. Hence the 4.30 cups of tea and computer hopping. Congrats to Mr C! Lots of things seem to be getting sorted for you both. Soon you will be as serene as a swan sunbathing on the bank. (But hopefully not as bad tempered. Early morning sleeplessness notwithstanding.)"Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -
Sorry you are not sleeping x
Well done to Mr C, better than the travelling again, maybe you will be able to get a Mooter at long last (((((((I know cringeworthy))))))).
How about writing a list of some sort? Urgent, semi urgent, not urgent, worring you etc, When you have so much going on it is hard to get everything into some kind of "mental order" and you don't want to become ill again. xOne small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!

Well done to Mr C! :T :T Sounds just what's needed, and perhaps it'll take some of the pressure off you with an extra income coming in?
I agree - a list is a good plan. What about the important/urgent thing? I find that useful sometimes for setting out the difference between the big things that are important, and the little things that are all clamouring for attention (And sometimes that do need doing), but don't need agonising over or much attention spent on them. Sometimes things can just all seem a little overwhelming.0 -
Ooo thank you all, I do feel special when people reply!
Wordsmith, that would be a good description of me at the moment. A very grumpy swan on the banks. I hate being grumpy which makes me grumpier.
YAHM - Hmmm getting ill. I did feel on the edge yesterday but at least I noticed it and did something about it.
Cheery - thanks, yes extra income will indeed take the pressure off at the moment. Not only the income but also Mr C's need for feeling useful will be helped.
I love lists. I live by lists most of the time but I think that has been my problem of late. I have so much going on that I couldnt sit still long enough to concentrate on doing a list. Hopefully the next few weeks will calm down a bit and I can get back on track. I am known by my friends as Monica (from friends) due to my control freakishness. I have come to realise that I am much happier when I feel in control. I have also realised that I can handle stress so much easier if I can deal with things in a calm and systematic order. Mr C on the other hand becomes "manic" and I have never had to deal with that kind of situation before so I am trying to learn new ways of managing things whilst treading a very fine line sometimes if that makes any sense. 4.30 in the morning is a good time to have peace and quiet to think things through.

Pah to w*rk
Sometimes 15 minutes out to make a list is *the* most important time of the day, and it's most vital when you think you're too busy to do it.
Hope you get a bit more time soon.
I know what you mean about it helping for Mr C to feel more useful - similar things happening here0 -

Right back to work
Are you related to me?? My instinctive response to a crisis is to make a list. I've been likened to Monica but see that as a compliment - it's how I am and I get there much faster than MrX.
BTW I thought 4.30 a.m. was the time everyone solved their problems? :rotfl::rotfl:But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0
