Computer in Tesco Warrington today with an out of date SEL, think it was £349.99 reduced from £399.99 until 27/10/06. Didn't have the bottle to try it and no self scanner in that store unfortunately.

Come on strepsy don't think about the money if it goes through OK, forget your purse. Otherwise think of it as a little £1 deal, not significant.

I daily work with figures of 50K to 100K so money means little to me when I am working, and r&ring is defo work to me.

If you come across flustered, it won't work, go back in there with your smartest togs on(helps build the inner confidence) and grab the bull by hte horns
    I had a plan..........its here somewhere.

McDonag - where have you been!?

Working like a dog, doing the doors at some of the local hostelries by night and on a Close Protection course by day. Finished early today and went straight to Mr. T's.

Strepsy, be brave, go back and try. if it goes through the till at 349 you can suddenly realise you have forgotten your wallet and leave it ;) if it goes through at 399, its an R&R. you will be fine

    thanks mikeyphil

Does anyone here believe that Amishi was part of a global sting operation whereby every Tesco store selling that TV devoted security staff time solely to watching anyone who chose to look at it? And subsequently compiled CCTV/images of "potential R+R abusers" that's posted round the company for store detectives to follow?

Surely Spa2k and Constantine will be able to confirm that they've been contacted as part of this operation?

It's not at all believable, either on practical grounds (what result can they achieve? Even people unaware of R&R may browse SELs closely) or on legal grounds. As I understand it, such usage of their CCTV system may fall foul of the Data Protection Act as companies have to register what they are using it for and I'd have thought Tesco would have cited "to prevent shoplifting" as a reason rather than "to spy on people and discourage people from helping us spot misprices".

Well, I thought I should ask before making a career move richie23.

I am not bothered by who is watching me, if I get asked for help, I just say yeah I am looking for so and so, and they are so chuffed when they can direct me to exactly the product that I came looking for.

One such helpful assistant came over to me by the CS desk, to give me some advise last night, she said don't let them fob you off with the difference, get all of the money back, just don't drop me in it by telling you I told you so.

I am really regaining faith in the good hearts of others.

I think everyone has thought about doing this professionally and wouldnt be surprised if many do. People dont beliveme how easy it is, and when i say what ive had they do a false laugh.. took mate who showed another mate a week or so back (Lets-go-to-tesco is his user id and daxman) and they ring me now saying what they've had as i showed them that one time..

If AMISHI or what ever his name is wants to deliberatly misprice things then let him and i'm sure others will say the same things. Maybe we should compile a list asking for him to misprice.. make his job easier and ours.

One of these days someone will secretly film there store and catch all the best excuses off CS...instead of "you been framed" "you been r&r'ed!"
