have you got a disguise? do you go to the same cs all the time? another name perhaps? or complain that you have been disgustingly illegally overcharged the last five times

I would keep my head down at least. And after reading a few posts on here i'm now going to not do any r&r below £10 as it's really not worth the profile i might get. And then when a biggie comes up i.e Xbox/Phone i can go for that with ease.

The thing is aswell if you have had these 5 within the last couple of days then they will notice you and how many things did you buy?

I'm not sure they can refuse the policy but they can refuse to let you enter their store.

I need some advise from the 'seasoned' R&Rers please.
I have done about 5 R&R's from my local Tesco and the CS witch told me today that I've been abusing the refund policy and any further overcharges would not be refunded.
I was gobsmacked and I meekly said OK. If I had an inkling that she would say that I'd have stood my ground and come up with some comment.
What should I do now apart from travel further afield?
The refunds have all been for about £25.00.

I'd carry on R+Ring at that store, and if you get the same witch again, politely point out to her that these scenarios would never have arisen in the first place if the store hadn't committed multiple criminal offences by displaying misleading price indications. Tell your local Trading Standards about the overcharges, and that the store is now refusing to honour its advertised policy by imposing its own "limit" whilst continuing to break the law by overcharging people.

    My advice would be :

If you want an easy life:

Stay away from said store for the time being - a few weeks at least

Find further afield stores, it can only benefit you in the long run for when you need to visit various stores for harder to find items.

If you want to fight the principal:

Then you have done nothing wrong, and so long as they continue to allow you to shop at that store, they must continue to give you the same policy that applies to everyone else in the store. Just because one moody customer service lady gets the hump, doesn't mean she can change the goalposts!!

    ----

Personally I would go with option 1 .... and play the "long game"

    Cheers,

i think i got a profile now, and its so difficult and boring to just do a "normal" shop. wouldnt mind a few simpsons dvds or games to play with on my tesco policy console but i might have to bite my lip
  • i had an r&r today on some xmas decorations. They were priced at £2.97 a pack on the box but the SEL stated £1.97. I picked up 5 packs of these so I got a refund of £14.85. I also used one of the Asda 50p coupons at the self scanner which deducts £4.50 so this paid for most of the rest of my shopping that I got!!

Just bought a five pack of Pixar Cars boys briefs age 4-5, priced at £4, scanned at £2. Then went back in and bought other 2 packs. Don't know if it was just a mis price in this store but worth checking out. I also couldn't check other sizes as this was the only size left. Well chuffed, my son loves cars and I had thought of looking in the Disney store but would have paid a lot more :j

With regards to the X Box promotion, are you supposed to pick up one of those small white/green boxes on the promotion display along with the game off the shelf for the discount to kick in?

I'm sure they have a box with the console and the game on it (all in one)
