  • Good Firday everyone!

Yep, you guessed it........ PAYDAY today! lol

Transfer to OH has gone out and signature updated!

OH b'day today - all sorted, he has booked today and Monday off work as he needs to do some work on his car and he fancies going fishing - so I am sure he will start today with a cooked breakfast out somewhere! I did make hima cuppa before I left for work, but I was running late and then DS-S decided to pour his cereal into his lap, so not the best start to the day for him! lol

Money is doing what I expect and moving around to cover various bits and pieces. I still maintain that being organised is boring - but maybe it is just less stressful?

Not a lot else to report really! Hopefully going to catch the Rugby tomorrow and then go out for drinkies and a meal with OH and a couple of friends of ours! Dog / house sitting starts tomorrow - been told to eat / drink anything thats in the house.... and there is a very well stocked drinks cabinet!! Although the food looked a little on the low side! lol ho-hum!!

Right, had better go and do some work!

Laters everyone and have a good weekend, weather is 'sposed to be alright... well, down here anyway! x

Still need to finalise my mums b'day present - I swear it's harder to buy present for parents as they get older!
This weekend sees the start of my house / dog sitting.

  • Good morning All!

Well, the sun is shining here and that always makes me happy! Especially as I have a never-ending-engergy-labrador to walk after work this evening! Ok, it will be pretty much dark by then, but at least it should be dry!

Not a lot to report (is there ever nowadays?) - but here I go.....
    • Got just a little bit excited this morning when I logged on to my internet banking and saw I had 22p in interest applied to my new savings account (or more accurately, the account where I hold the money I need to pay the CC).
    • House / dog sitting is going well. Wishing the house wasn't still part building site and that the weather had been nicer so I could use the hot-tub..... but the walks along the beach have been good!
    • OH loved his b'ay presents.
    • Bought mums b'day present yesterday - brother will give me half back on Sat.
    • Went out for dinner last night as OH was at home on Monday as he had DS. Bargain meal at local country pub; either a free starter or dessert when you order a main, so 3 drinks, 2 starters and 2 mains came in at £26!! Not bad at all. Even better as OH paid, although I was supposed to be buying - on me next time.... somewhere more expensive too probably!
    • Had a carppy day at work Monday as too many staff off on holiday / ill, didn't hear anything from OH. Then I got back to the house I am looking after to find a card, box of choc, bunch of roses and bottle of wine in the porch!! Ah, love him!!! Cheered my day up no end!! :o
    • Have to visit my mum after work tomorrow as it's her b'day.
    • Out for dinner with the family on Sat for mums b'day - parents are paying!!! For 21 of us!!
    • Have to go and try on my bridesmaid dress after work on Friday - over an hours drive, through rush-hour.... not my idea of fun and now mum might want to come with me..... but that means I can't smoke!!! (she doesn't know! lol)
    • Need to get my mums card this evening.
And that's about it from me - work is busy (so I really shouldn't be on here, but hey-ho!!!)

Hope everyone is well? Will have a quick fly round your diaries in a bit!

  • LOL that your mum doesn't know you smoke! You do have a busy week - ahh gutted, you haven't been able to use the hot tub - how cool would that be!

Hi All! Hope you are all well and managing to avoid the flu that seems to be doing the rounds again?

Well, my week of house / dog sitting is almost at an end - only tonight to go! I am actually glad and really looking forward to getting home!

Smarties - Yeah, I didn't start smoking until I was at Uni and then I never went home in the holidays (stayed with my BoyF of the time). It's really strange actually that when I am with my Mum I don't even think about smoking - so maybe I should move home and that would make me stop! lol

Well, it's payday today!! whoop whoop! lol. Have looked online and every penny is behaving itself. But I do have a new plan! UH-OH!! lol
As my spreadsheet is active for the whole of this year, I can see what affect moving / spending money now has at a later date (sometimes an over spend now won't have an impact until 2-3 weeks time because of my weekly pay!). So, what I have decided (on the back of thinking about moving money in and out of the 'house account' to try and reduce its interest) is that each payday I am going to move some money into my eSaver account or, depending on my current account, move some out of my eSavers account. My reasoning behind this is that I no longer earn any interest (or only at a piddly rate not worth worrying about) on my current account, but I do on my eSavers account, so I may as well earn some pennies in interest than none at all. It's instant transfer between the two as well, so if anything does go astray (and with my meticulous planning, I see no reason why it should!! lol) I can move money back into my current account pronto!!

    I love a PLAN!!! :rotfl:

I think that is it for now! Oh, how much decorating at home do you think I can do for £200.00? Need to get planning for my time off in April! ;)

Right, must do some work as I have to leave a little early today to walk the dog, collect my Mum, and then drive for an hour to get to the place to try my bridesmaid dress on!! Really cannot be arrised!!! lol

Laters, Nats x  <- could do with some of those!! lol

  • Ok Nats.... your new [STRIKE]nerdy hobby[/STRIKE] plan is great (if it keeps you amused and interested);)

You can really tart up a house with £200 - fresh paint and a few bits that really cheer you up :D obviously I wouldn't attempt the new kitchen just yet!!!

I need to see a photo of you in this bridesmaid dress, and if you don't send me one I'll tell your ma about the fags:p

Have a great weekend..... you done that biggest loser dvd yet? did you see the uk trainer got 'expelled'this week!

  • Morning All - at work this morning ... only 8-12, so not too bad.

Back to my own house this afternoon - can't wait!!

OBNW - I think I need to make things a bit more complicated than they generally need to be to keep interested in them!! I am bored of my money behaving, nothing to keep track of!! At least this way I have a genuine reason for scrutinising my spreadsheet every single day (maybe even more than once!)

Here is the link to the dress - Obviously not me in it!!! http://www.bhs.co.uk/mall/productpage.cfm/bhsstore/657202/228568

Bearing in mind it is a summer wedding - can I get away with a tan, or would it look better if I was pale?

Right, a little more work and then offski!!

Have a great weekend everyone - don't let the weather dampen your mood!! Nats x

  • Pretty dress, what colouring are you? Unless you are dark haired with olive skin I'd recommend a slight fake tan:cool:

Hope your weekend is good and you are not missing the dog too much x

Nat's i do the same with my CC payment money each month. Move it into a savings account until a couple of days before it is due to go out then move it back, Certainly keeps me on my toes trying to remember to move it back in time. I figure that though it's only for a week or two a couple of hundred pounds could add up to something when it comes to pennies worth of interest.

    ABSOLUTELY!!!! Every penny helps!!!! :D

Dark hair yep - not quite olive skinned.... but can pick up a decent enough tan! :D The dress looked horrible on the hanger, but is actually relly flattering when on - just need a new 'over the shoulder boulder holder' without the over the shoulder bit, to go with it!! Not convinced it's the right colour for a summer wedding - but it's not my wedding! ;) Would have been happier if they were sized properly and I didn't have to go up a size. Only way I would have got into the size I wanted would be to have the majority of my ribs removed!! :rotfl:
