    Morning All! *waves*

A bit grey here this morning, but due to brighten up later. Had a pretty amazing storm last night: can't beat a bit of thunder and lightening!!

So, it is my favourite day of the week again! As per usual, money that needs to be moved... has been moved. Not so much to jiggle around now my old OD is taken care of.

Still running ideas around for the "Iceland Challenge" (as I have now named it)... OH and I have both agreed that we need to give up smoking, so that should free up some pennies to put into the pot too. I am already setting aside my loose change at the end of the week, I reckon there is almost £3 in my tin... could be a nice little start to the pot in January. I am working on my car insurance renewal. Going direct back to my current insurer instead of using the renewal saves me around £90, but there are many other insurers where I could save almost half... just need to check over the levels of cover and then check cashback on top (a job for the weekend me thinks!)

Ooh, before I forget... Q.co Opinions up to £1.30!! YAY - lol.

No cheque yet from my old energy supplier - BOO!

Trying to keep food shopping to a minimum at the moment... there is sooo much stuff in the freezer that needs to be eaten and then replaced with food that is actually of some use for the winter. There could be some interesting meals over the next week or so!! lol

Right, must do some work! (Apparently!)

    Laters! x

ps, I love my shoes!!! x

I am working on my car insurance renewal.

Car insurance renewed.... monthly DD reduced by almost £14 a month!! Only £20 cashback to be had.... but that, and the £10 from my insurance saving (I will keep the odd £4) will mean that there is already £140 going into the Iceland pot next year on top of the £520 in weekly payments... = £660.00. This "savings malarkey" could get quite addictive you know! Nice to see a balance growing in a positive balance for a change!!

    Back later! x

Went to the cinema FOC last night to see Captain Phillips.... a relaly good film, would highly recommend!

That's it from me for now. Full update tomorrow... FRIDAY!!!

Oh, apart from I am waiting for some new boots to arrive... now before I get whipped for buying more footwear... these are FOC as they are safety boots for work... not sexy as such, but I found the nicest ones I can... and at the end of the day, who can turn their nose up at free footwear!! ;o)

    Good morning All!

    Friday again!

Money is all where it should be - still getting used to not having to move so much around! :O)

Still waiting for the cheque from the energy people.

Have been looking into social lending sites.. not to borrow money from, but to lend money through and earn interest. I need to run some figures and then convince OH that it's a good way forward.

Keep looking at the spreadsheet (ooh, another one!!) I have setup for the Iceland fund. With my weekly DD of £10 and my month DD of £10, I am only £340 short of my target of £1000. In theory, that leaves me only £6.92 a week short of my target. I am thinking that this is definitely achievable!

    Q.co Opions still at £1.30.

Need to start thinking about Chrimbo - not a pleasant thought... but needs must.

Laters, have a great weekend... it's getting decidedly more Autumn-like out there; Might go for a stomp in the woods! x x x

    Morning All!

It's "Fantastic Friday" again! It is all a bit mundane at the moment as nothing really needs jiggling around.
I have just messaged my bank to ask them to close my 2 x 'savings' accounts. They have been empty for months and only offer a piddley amount of interest, so they may as well go... its time to streamline a little and only have accounts that are used!!

Been looking at cashback on Q.co for changing from V1rgin to 5ky. Although the level of package we would be interested in is virtually the same price as we are paying now, we get a discounted rate for 6 months and the cashback could be up to £165 + a M&S voucher.... now that's not to be sniffed at!! I could put some of it towards the 'Iceland fund' :O) If I put £100 in the pot, then I would be £240 of my target for the year, which is only £4.62 a week. If I put all of it in (assuming it is £165), then I would be £175 short for the year, which is only £3.37 a week. We will see.... OH will probably decide that he doesn't want to change and then there will be £0 cashback. I may just have to do it and then tell him its been done!

Not a lot else to report - on the hunt for xmas present bargains... not found any yet though!

    Have a great weekend all! x x x

    Hi All!

Writing this in advance this week as I am off work on Friday... am driving across the country to meet up with the girls from University... can't believe it was just over 12 year ago we all left! In that time between the 5 of us, there have been 3 marriages, 1 divorce, 4 births and an additional 2 degrees (with one still studying!!)d!! Really looking forward to it as we haven't all been together for about 18 months!

I have had my wage-slip for the week, and as long it arrives in my bank on Friday - everything is hunky-dory.

I usually leave paying the CC as late as possible (in the thought that the money is better off in my account than theirs). Last month though, OH had spent loads of money and was then strapped to pay his share... nightmare! So, from this months bill onwards, it will be paid on the 1st of each month, which should only be a few days after OH's pay and will stop him huffing and puffing.

On that note - OH is officially useless when it comes to food shopping!!! I did a weekly shop on Saturday with everything we needed for this week. Last night OH came home with another 2 carrier bags full.... we only needed a loaf of bread. He can't stick to the meal plans either, so have put 2 loads of chicken and pork loins in the freezer - at least they will carry forward to next week! Its just frustrating though.

I have had confirmation that the cheque from my old energy provider is on its way... only £200 but better than nothing :O)

My Q.co opinions is up to £4.50... coming along nicely.

Right, I have a mountain of things to do before I leave work tomorrow, so I will love and leave you all for now.. have a great weekend... I intend to! x
